Exactly Toups! I'm amazed at OLTL's day to day viewers numbers versus GH & AMC. Yes, they lost viewers too, but they are still holding on to more viewers than GH & AMC. All I can say is, rock on OLTL! I will follow you to Prospect..:DB)

OLTL was getting worst numbers for most of 2010 than AMC has gotten the past year even if you include a week like this, so you never know. Sometimes it completely turns around. Of course both shows are going off the air on television so it's a bit of a moot point.

I don't believe it has either, Carolyn. I was talking about Household and Total Viewers. I believe OLTL was regularly doing better than AMC in 18-49 when the situation was reversed in 2010. AMC's audience skews older even when they're doing well overall.

AMC and OLTL more or less switched places in 2010 and 2011 in HH and Total Viewers number. I'm getting done doing the average in Total Viewers that's how I was able to pluck that number out so fast. OLTL for the last couple of year is typically healthier than AMC in 18-49 no matter how bad they're doing overall or how good AMC is doing. You can tell why that is watching the programs. There's a huge difference in the audience each show would appeal to. AMC is a lot more conservative at least under LB and S&K.

AMC is averaging 2,414,000 viewers overall Jan - Jul 2011

OLTL was averaging 2,410,000 viewers overall Jan - Jul 2010

OLTL has come full circle as a soap as its clearly gotten its own new fanbase. I think quality does equal ratings but it only works for the long-term and not the short-term. OLTL has been a quality soap since 2008 and its now starting to stand out from AMC and GH b/c of those shows troubles. OLTL has become its own machine since the fall and its showing up now more than ever in the ratings. I believe OLTL can get 3 million viewers before November.

B&B had a pretty good week outside of Friday, best consecutive weeks for them in months and Y&R was a lot more weaker this week.

DAYS probably isn't going to get back on its game until next week, too much confusion with these airings will probably throw people off.

I'm happy that my second fave soap OLTL is doing so well--but at this point I don't get why. It's like the more fans complain (even most hardcore fans on here) the better the ratings are! (I admit I love how much it improves, even by small numbers, over GH...)

Meanwhile, I'm annoyed AMC hasn't climbed at all as it improved SOO much that week, but maybe (hopefully) the Broderick style will be a slow climb? At this point I know the ratings are irrelevent, but... (Although its overall drop is less than Frons' fave GH)

I don't know. I used to think that people would come back to say goodbye but now I think it makes some people just say "Why bother?" Personally, I gave up on AMC last year. I only came back because of the Hubbard baby and I only stayed because of cancellation. It would be pretty easy for me to walk away.

I won't get into my theory about OLTL. I'm not in the mood for yet another round of Lord of the Flies.

In the loving arms of his wife, Dr. Marlena Evans, John took his last breath at the end of the June 2 episode, after suffering devastating internal injuries during a lab explosion. The iconic character went out as he lived — a hero. Sensing the fans’ devastation on Monday, Marlena’s portrayer Deidre Hall posted this simple-but-powerful message to fans on Instagram: “I know. I know. Hardest day ever.”

    • Now coming into June...well...   I knew it was coming but I didn't like the start to the next round of Dani/Bill/Hayley. As the 3 A plots from the start of the show (The SilkPress storyline and Martin's Secret being the other two), it needed to be benched for a while to develop those characters and allow other characters and storylines to grow. 3 months in, Hayley is the weak link, Dani is still divisive, but not boring, and Bill has been making his mark with some plots faster than others. So last week seeing the story starting to loop back around to them with Hayley's potential pregnancy, I honestly had mixed feelings.   I get it. The SilkPress storyline is currently in aftermath/next turn mode, so it has to be moved into a C plot position. Moreso if we want to keep the very talented Miss Trish around. And I love how clever the writers are being with the storyline. They give us enough in the episodes and are still playing out beats to keep the appetite fed. I don't feel like anyone is being dumbed down to keep her around. And Trish is giving nuances in her alone scenes with NuTed. I shouldn't care for a clear psycho, but she be selling it. That said...I wish they had given us a little more of the Martin's Secret storyline in the last week of the month though I loved the game of cat and mouse Bill did on Martin and Smitty to keep the storyline alive and active after it had a nice build beginning of May and vanished for a week mid-May. And it appears like it's about to go back to the backburner as an A plot which of course leaves the A plot of Dani/Bill/Hayley.   I am probably in the minority as someone who is not anti-Dani here and even she annoyed the heck out of me last week. In character true, but I just felt like there was a way to get all of that across without it feeling like...as I've said before...one step forward, two steps back...and have it feel organic. I liked Hayley got a little bit of edge with her, but she still ain't no match for Dani. And it reminds to be seen if we should be going back to that well of a story yet.   Now about today's show...   And I thought Tracy was bad! lol. But YES. Sharon has been worth the wait. And so has Anita's story! Finally having TT in the limelight. This has been a nice slow burn for me and a nice B plot. And the actress is good. The wig is giving. And her holding what Anita's secret is over her head and threatening to tell Vernon....Ooooo...that is what I was waiting for.    And speaking of bad...I thought Eva vs Kat was a great rivalry. But I am loving the rivalry that is growing with 'Nancy Drew' and Silk Press Sheila! They both get good licks in and are so cunning with each other. And I definitely have liked that since the anniversary party, that it has been growing. Now that Kat has been proven right, she has not backed down. And neither has SilkPress. And we got a 'Ms. B@tch' moment, too? LOVE. Eva coming up with a trump card was delicious and so 90s Sami Brady. GOOD. And the coda with Jacob and the expert...YES. The Silk Press storyline has been the best paced on the show so I love that the aftermath of the anniversary party continues to be so...barring one flaw...well for me. Not enough Nicole's POV.   And I like the C plots on display. And by that, I mean Chelsea with Vernon. And it made me wonder what the writers have plan for her love life now that the throuple is over with. I was watching her and going awww.   And of course the mystery man around Martin. I am starting to wonder if he really even works at the country club given how he made a run for it. That would be a twist.    Speaking of Martin...good to see him in scenes with his father and mother.    I'm getting used to NuTed.    I felt the last episode of May was a bit of a letdown, but this was a very nice recovery.
    • Unless they cut him, I'd think he would stay. Surely, he didn't choose to return because he expected high quality. I figure he gets to work when he wants and spend a lot of time doing his own thing and being with his family.
    • The writing for Liz and Lucky is indeed terrible, but if JJ signed a one-year contract he may be gone in a couple of months anyway. Perhaps they’re just cutting their losses.
    • That would be his older sister Stacey. She was the center of a big story back in the day. Nola was out to snag medical student Kelly Nelson, who she thought would provide her with the life she craved. He was in love with a girl named Morgan. Nola plotted to get pregnant by him, but couldn't manage to get him in bed. So she seduced Floyd, who thought she was in love with him. When she knew she was pregnant, she got Kelly drunk and made sure he woke up next to her in bed. Kelly believed her when she told him he made her pregnant. They were about to elope to Las Vegas, but her mother ratted her out and Kelly abandoned her. She almost married Floyd, but jilted him at the altar. She went to work for Quint. When the baby came prematurely, Kelly saved both of them. She named the baby Kelly Louise to irk Morgan, who was now married to Kelly. When she fell in love with Quint, she had a change of heart over all the trouble she had caused, so she changed the baby's name to Anastasia Louise, shortened to Stacey. Quint was a devoted stepfather and Henry treated her like his own granddaughter.  After Quint and Nola leave SF, I believe Stacey is never seen again. Which is odd, you would think they would have brought her back with Nola and J, but they never did.
