Members dragonflies
No offense to Errol, but I'm going to wait until I hear this from PP themselves, there's too much conflicting info
Members KMan101
Agreed. He also stated that he's heard OLTL will have THREE studios. Which is very interesting. It will cut down on having to take sets down and put them back up.
Webmaster Errol Posted August 6, 2011 Webmaster Share Posted August 6, 2011 No offense taken. I heard the info from multiple sources and it was also confirmed to me by Cameron Mathison, who I interviewed during one of the AMC Fan Club Luncheon events last week. The videos from that weekend and GH weekend are being edited right now and should all be up next week. Thankfully, I'm not doing the editing this time so no late postings are expected
Members Dana
Of course, launching in January may be their intent, but things can change. I reiterate what's been said before, PP would have probably been better off starting off with 1 or 2 shows a week and a much smaller cast, and then grow from there. They got caught flat-footed when their plans were revealed and they way overpromised (imo) what they could deliver in the subsequent press release. Members StevieM
I just realized something. Does the fact that OLTL and AMC are no longer going to be airing during the daytime on Network TV mean that they can now use profanity? Can the actors use curse words? And would those words be bleeped out on Canadian TV? I think here in the U.S. it would still be a problem to have the profanity bleeped, but maybe Canada and other countries are a little more lax. Members EricMontreal22
You wouldn't know it, because most of our scripted tv is either pretty tame/lame or American (it amused me that amongst the just announced Genie awards--the Canadian TV, and movie I think--shows how little attention anyone pays--for scripted drams three, Tudors, the Borgias and Skins, I had forgotten that all of them were technically co funded and co produced by Canadian networks). But technically you can air more risque stuff on Canadian TV, especially where language, and sex/nudity is involved. Still, I believe for anything more than maybe the S word, and "non sexual nudity", it has to air post the 9pm timezone, much like in the UK. Members CouchTomato
Have any OLTL actors said that PP has definitely asked them to be on their web series? I thought PP would've dealt with the union stuff long before now. That's so basic unless they were hoping to avoid involving unions? I can't believe PP is publicly trying to find a cable channel for reruns before they can publicly say which actors will be on their web soaps. Members skiman12082004
Brian Frons is an absolute buffoon. Every time he opens his mouth to comment about AMC & OLTL he angers me to no end. He is an incompetent hack who truly deserves to be unemployed. Thankfully PP licensed the shows and hopefully proves once and for all what we soaps fans always knew the soaps are viable and Brian Frons is an ass.
