Members dragonflies
NOt surprised at all, basically what they would say. It'd be like if you emailed them, basically like a form letter
Members Wizzerkat
The only real thing I hate is the lack of real closure. PP bit off more than they could chew and AMC fans paid the price.
Members dragonflies
I think they should have tried just one soap and see how it did, if it had a modicum of success, then they should have tried to pick up the other at another time. Both at once was too much
Members EricMontreal22
Mine too. In a way I have come to peace with the ending we got, but... I do honestly think just launching one soap, though initially far more cost effective, doesn't make a lot of sense for any long term. Similarly, and I'm in the minority here, I saw a potentially more interesting future for AMC maybe with the need to rebuild much of it, as well as the loack of Frons interference (which seemed to affect AMC more) than I see for OLTL online. Bah.
Members Eric83
They probably felt like they needed to save both, but bit off more than they could chew. No one at AMC really seems interested in it anyway, that has more to do with the plans being scrapped than anything.
Members JaneAusten
Interesting. Weren't there rumors that one of the new shows was taking that space. I actually thought it was going to Katie Courics show.
Members SFK
Lawd, the real question is, is PP ready for the wrath of scorned soap fans? Prepare thy selves for the picket signs, online hate campaigns (No-prospects Park, Prospect Yark!), and manure bouquets.
Webmaster Errol Posted November 10, 2011 Webmaster Share Posted November 10, 2011 I believe that's the long-term plan. This is just a temporary thing as far as I know (right now).
Members EricMontreal22
Well it really wasn't. It is awful we didn't get the full intended ending, but AMC I think had a better final week than AW, ATWT and GL...I'm not even going to hold on to this, but it does sound like the actual rumour is that AMC is on hold--not canceled indefinitely. But still.

Members DaytimeFan
I always liked AW's finale, the ape on the loose part was ridiculous, but the Wedding Video (ie goodbye to the fans) was a lovely touch, all the photographs, Rachel turning off the lights and going up the stairs with Carl, I liked it. I also liked AMC's finale because we all get to imagine what happened next. The ABC Studios plan for OLTL demonstrates that it has a somewhat concrete future, at least for the short term. That kind of planning is what didn't happen for AMC and which spelled its demise.
Members JaneAusten
I am waiting for all the Lucci bashers to come out and start blaming her.
Members SFK
And though I'm curious about what they had planned, I honestly feel like that Six Feet Under style ending may have depressed the hell out of me. AMC did a really nice job of packing in closure and warm cuddly nostalgic feelings starting several weeks before the finale (remember that wonderful Erica montage?). I feel that I got closure, so keeping the ending up in the air like that almost lends itself to the beautiful point you made in another thread about the beauty shots, the idea that this town exists 24/7/52. I'll live.
