I know this episode is already available but if anyone wanted a recording made at the time, one was uploaded last month.

Thanks! God... that's my favorite Brooke of all time. She's like a porcelain doll.

I’m finished with 1999, now a few months into 2000.

All I can say is, 1999 has to be my favorite year of the show so far on this rewatch. Other than the way the Stephanie/James and Eric/Lauren relationships disappeared without an explanation, I find very little to complain about here. It’s like Brad Bell got himself temporarily replaced by a much more competent doppleganger. The younger cast of this era is wonderful, and the scandalous Brooke/Thorne pairing is the icing on the cake, bringing much exciting drama.

It remains to be seen how 2000, a year I have strong childhood nostalgia towards, will stack against it, but it too has been very good so far. I did think the exit storyline of Macy’s dad was way too rushed - it makes sense to remove him as Macy’s support structure for what shall happen later in the Macy/Thorne/Brooke triangle, but the execution could have been much stronger.

1999-2002 is like a silver period for the show... The golden era being 1987-1993.

I like 70-80 percent of the stuff, even if the themes are cheap and taboo. It's not some deep drama, but it's a well executed tabloid scandal show. At least that's when Brad Bell was excited about the show and there was this feeling of anticipation of what's to come.

Compared to 2025... Where everything is so dull and dead... 1999-2002 is such a prime era for the show. The best of Brad Bell's head writing. Again... That's by his standards... If I have to compare it to his father... It's still trash.

1999 was my last year of real time watching. I started losing interest after the Jabot/Newman/Forrester crossover ended plus regular life got in the way so I just gave up watching. I did see online the Stephanie/Brooke confrontation that got SF her first Lead Actress Emmy for B&B.

I am still watching 1998. Been past the Rush/Tony/Lauren story. In fact i remembered it more interesting. Now Ridge is about to leave Brooke and go back to Taylor and Thomas. I do not understand why the writters chose to make us first beleive that Ridge loves Brooke but for the baby he stays with Taylor and of course Brooke wants him to make love to her ?!?!? as always. I am also watching 2025 episodes but I am not inetersted at all.

Thanks again to all Angels!

I so hope someone will uploade again Videoland episodes if I am not mistaken the once that are now uploaded are from YT only.

The YouTube ones from season 13 onwards are better quality than VL because YT are in HD so should be the benchmark episodes kept in the Vault,  however there are many that should be replaced with VL copies due to the YT ones either being faulty in some way (glitches, lacking sound) or because the YT channel simply skipped them. I think the next one due for being replaced is 3361 for which the YT version is glitchy. Hopefully an Angel comes through shortly (@rsclassicfanforever ? 🙏) with replacements for episodes up to the current ones on VL (they are up to 3392). Thanks Angels!

So I don’t know if this is the right place to ask, but it’s a B&B thread so i’ll give it a shot.

I haven’t been current on the show in years but i’ve been using their YT channel to slowly catch up on stuff i’ve missed.

I recently finished 2019 and was curious, was there a Christmas episode that didn’t air? There’s a lot of mentions of a Christmas party happening but i’m not sure if that was meant to air or if it was just an off-screen event that was spoken about a lot.

Also on the show New Year happens around what would be the 2nd week of Jan (real time), i’m guessing there was some kind of interruption to the show around the Christmas period to push things back?

It’s totally irrelevant, but I am curious.

It seems 8246 was the only Christmas episode (not a lot of fanfare), and it aired on January 2 2020. There were a number of unscheduled preemptions during November and December which would have pushed the intended airdate out.

Is the person asking the question referring to years, or episode numbers? Those years have already been added. The channel has been specific re the missing seasons though:

Surprised to learn the show was planning to recast Caroline Spencer after Joanna Johnson chose to exit the role; I wonder what ultimately changed in that decision. Hmmm

I think some names thrown around in the soap press were Genie Francis and Tonja Walker but I could be mistaken.

My theory is that Bill Bell realized he rushed into recasting Y&R Ashley (Eileen Davidson didn't get a proper exit storyline and Brenda Epperson floundered for her first 6 months) so he decided to kill off Caroline and replace her role on the show with Taylor.

Tonja Walker as Caroline would have been WILD. Thank God they did not do this. THANK GOD.

Caroline death was sad but Joanna Johnson was irreplaceable. She was so natural and real in the role and it all worked out in the end as she went on to have success in her post-B&B writing and directing career.
