Whoa! Sounds like this is a short-term return for Nicholas, but I'm glad they've cast him to include him in this arc. It sounds like Carly is at least going to go out with some dignity. I was worried they'd send her off huffing and puffing to rehab and we'd never hear about her again.

Meh to both.

Sydney Penny is one of the most overrated soap actresses of all-time. She sucked on Santa Barbara and was only decent her first year on AMC when they pitted her against SMG's Kendall. She sucks the life out of everything she touches and I'm sure her scenes with Chappell will be positively snooze-worthy.

As for Cody Longo, call me when the show brings back Victor Webster as Nicholas.

I don't want them to bring back Victor Webster as Nicholas, because he is WAY too damn old to be Crystal Chappell's son. I seriously have to sort of block that casting out of my mind now that Carly's on the show. I get that they thought Carly and Lawrence would never be seen again, but it was such a stupid SORASing.

I don't see them keeping him on the show though. With Vivian and Carly gone, what would be the point? His only relative would be John......or is John even considered an Alamain anymore? How funny that 25 years later, we still don't really know who the f.uck John Black is!

    • I've been behind & just got caught up & the last 3 days were amazing!
    • Yeah.  The hot, poor bad boy with a chip on his shoulder but with a heart of gold was a common soap trope in the 80s

    • That's been an issue with me... the lack of a cohesive 'Have Not' crowd that has focus other than Leslie/Eva.   I would beef up Jan, Mona, Laura, Joey, and few other male characters.. and not just be out to overthrow the Duprees.. but co-existing and broadening the scope of the show since the show is called Beyond the Gates. I think the set up the show has with everything revolving around the Duprees will become predictable especially if they always win.   It would be like Victor Newman on Y & R for 40+ years.. always winning, hardly ever losing.   With MVJ/Guza.. both trained under that mindset... I fear that will happen.   I've always heard from a performer that is playing a character like Leslie/Dana that you have to find the victim/hurt beneath the surface in order to play a villain/villainess... and I think that's why I enjoy watching her.. because she brings so much more to the part than what the writers put on the page.
    • I figure that was really hard for Dom to do. I completely GET why they wrote it the way they did but I wonder if it was necessary. Meanwhile I have 2 really icky ideas in my head. Drew is going to blame Tracy KNOWING it was not her. Dante is going to blame Lulu.  After that, everyone else is going to be mad at Lois.  Tracy is going to double down on wanting to get rid of Sonny. Sonny's going to be more dug in to stay because he now has a new descendant.
    • I can actually buy Brook Lynn being so self-absorbed and incurious that she never thought to question why her mom and grandma were so attached to Gio.
    • It was overkill and the whole narrative Lois was too nice to the orphan kid when he was little, WHAT? Like Emma said no one thinks Gio is a troublemaker that gets 14-year-old kids drunk for fun. That being said, Lulu figured this Gio thing out in episode, but Brook Lynn never once questioned Lois and Gloria attachment to a child that was the same age as the baby she gave up?  Ever?
    • Thanks for finding that. I may have been thinking of this blog entry.
    • Just watched the "Dante Screams At Gio" scenes. Jesus. Talk about overload and overkill. That was obnoxious.
