With the Buchanans facing multiple tragedies, look for not-always-favorite son David Vickers to make his way back to Llanview. Yes,Tuc Watkins will be returning to the show in late June. David's back from filming his movie, The Vicker Man, and he and his new bride Dorian will be looking to pick up their lives in Llanview.

Never gotten the point of this character and why the show always bends over backwards for an actor who clearly only does these stints for the money. I am also not a fan of Dorian/David, that whole relationship is repetitive and idiotic.

I literally can barely stomach watching him. IMO one of the worst actors in soaps and TV in general. Awful. Not looking forward to seeing him on my screen again.

I always go back and forth on whether it's better to watch a bad actor or a decent actor who doesn't try.

I used to think Tuc was the latter, but after seeing some of his first run again, I realize he was pretty bad back then.

Wow, what's with all the Tuc hate?!? I, for one, love him and think he has impeccable comedic timing, which is a gift many actors do not possess. But Tuc makes it look effortless.

And I disagree that he was just "bad" during his first stint. The character was quite layered back then and he had smokin hot chemistry with EVERY actress he was paired with (Tesreau, Tognoni, Strasser, and DePaiva). He still does and also has it with his male co-stars (the late Phil Carry, Bob Woods, Trevor St.John, Michael Easton, David Gregory, and Jerry verDorn come to mind).

I saw none with Tognoni or Tesreau, but then, Tesreau was horribly miscast and Tognoni has stunk with every man ever thrown at her on OLTL.

The idea of David was layered but Tuc mostly just seemed to be flat, to me, and some of the genuine attempts at dramatic acting were way off. I think that's why he began retreating into tic-laden nothingness, as he is now.

I see no real chemistry with Tuc and anyone now, mostly because all he does is spit one-liners out at them. It's the equivalent of the Lost in Space robot.

This madness needs to end.

Mercifully, it's about to. -_-

If bowing out with him makes RS happy, fine. But I won't like it. I have never liked him and Dorian as a couple, I have never bought it. Ever. I am against Dorian leaving Llanview for one, and if she leaves with David it'll be like a Drake retread.

I would take Tesreau and Tuc over Aubrey and Cutter anyday (I just remembered a risque for daytime David/Tina scene that began with her riding him/them climaxing as she fell off of him onto the bed next to him), but I never would have imagined that David would still be on the canvas. His delivery was flat even back then yet oddly enough more bearable when he didn't have *funny* things to say.

I agree. He has more going on actingwise than most people on soaps. It's not easy to be a comic actor, but he does it just fine.

I would have agreed at one time but it's just by numbers now. I can't blame him, as it's a good, quick way to make money, but I think he is long past making an effort as David.

David doesn't do much for me because I think his lines and their delivery are too *wink wink*. And his vocal rhythm is monotone so it all sort of strings together. I guess it is just a matter of taste. After all, I am one of those people who laugh when I see Susan Lucci making what I see as a comedic Erica choice where others see bad acting.

Bc he keeps coming and leaving. That tends to be looked down upon.Eden Riegel got the same type of hate when she was doing it on AMC as did Cady McClain. It doesnt help that the character isnt that compelling and a complete joke, yet the show does whatever it can to keep accomodating him, literally putting storylines and characters in limbo for him. They should have cut their losses years ago when he refused to commit
