The last scene of the final episode of OLTL I think needs to be like the end of the Trading Places episode, with Viki saying there's no place like Llanview accompanied by the instrumental version of the opening theme fading to black.

Clint and Karen were on the show together for about 2-3 years. She also would have known Bo, most likely.

I'd love to see Karen back but I wonder if anyone will even bother. I would bring back any notable characters from the past. OLTL was a show about flawed people from all walks of life, not core families. If anything core families strangled the show in recent years.

I do think the show will bother, and I'd like very much to see Judith Light and Michael Storm return. I think they need to be asked and the Woleks need to be represented. I'd also very, very much like to see the Gray/Hall clan represented, even if only by a new relative of Ed and Carla's. But honestly, I'd like to see Al Freeman and Ellen Holly totter in with Ed and Carla's grandkids at the end. It's the last possible moment to heal that spiritual wound at the show's core but it's the right thing to do. Just do it. Get 'em all, Andrea Evans (I would be stunned if she did not appear, in fact), John Loprieno, JDP, Fiona Hutchison, Judith Light, Michael Storm, Al Freeman Jr. and Ellen Holly. Drag Jessica Tuck back in to play Ghost Megan one more time. Ask Lynn Benesch to appear as Meredith's ghost! Make Susan Haskell make out with the back of the Thorsten Kaye stunt double's head if she has to in order to give Marty a happy ending. Do it all.

I'd also bring Dan Gauthier back immediately with a little Zane to reunite Kevin and Kelly, but I think the show will do the stupid thing in this case and go for Kelly and Joey. Dumb.

I just wonder if Frons will block it, since he may want his "vision" to the end.

If it were me, I would have Jessica commit suicide, and Viki cope with that over the show's final months, and then at the end, have a new mother and daughter move to town, played by Jessica Tuck and Erin Torpey.

I'd love to see Carla and Ed again.

I also want to see Rachel, and since it's the end, I want it to be Ellen Bethea, please, although I liked Daphnee a lot.

I was doing a play in college and our guest director was giving us an opening night prep talk when he relayed an anecdote saying, "While doing a play in Washington, an actor who you all really should know, by the name of Al Freeman, Jr." and in my head I was like, "Oh my GOD, of COURSE I know him..." I later went up to our director and said that I of course knew AFJ and asked if he knew Ellen Holly, and he said that he did indeed, he'd been in a production of The Scottish Play where she'd played Lady M.... I swear to you, stuff like that for me is like Deniro and Streep for others...

At this point I think it's the only honest story for Jessica. She isn't going to get better. She lapses for any and every reason. She does nothing but cause damage to everyone around her.

You should look for the post in the behind the scenes thread I started...there's an article from 1972 or so with Erika in hot pants

I'm sure AMC will end with the Erica Jackson wedding everyone is waiting for.

I bet you they will have Viki and Clint think about reuniting. I do think they need to put Erika in the final scene. Viki the character was there at the very first scene, so i'm told. and now that they know they are wrapping things up, we know we won't have a year's worth of Viki's alters. They will probably wrap that story up along with Jess/Tess in the next few months i hope so Viki and Jessica can be "cured" for the final. Viki will probably go off in september like she always does to get the help she needs (for Erika's last vacation) and then come back in October to do whatever storyline they plan on doing with her to wrap things up for January.

Now that they know they are going off, I hope Tuck can stay on for a while. Maybe have Dorian go off with David on his adventure like Dorian did with Drake when she left Llanview in 2000. let them go off into the sunset together. Rex and Gigi will probably have a big Llanview wedding like Cass and Lila did on Another World's final episode. Maybe Moe and Noel will come back for the wedding.I don't know how they will wrap up the two Todd's of Llanview but it should be iteresting. Maybe Ford will go off to right for Langston.

it could end with the second double wedding of Natalie, John, Jessica aned Brody. This time without a hitch. or maybe a tripple wedding with Joey and Kelly. That's too much to hope for.

Cheap, your pictures are WONDERFUL. I too became a OLTL fan due to Tina Lord Roberts (and her chemistry with EVERYONE, specially Viki and later Gabrielle). OLTL has had so many WONDERFUL actresses at any given time, it was an abundance of riches. I posted this in the Video Thread and it just is the perfect combination of soapy writing, brilliant acting, and outstanding scoring. And one of my all time favorite OLTL actresses.

    • I'm going to respond to you about this show. I've been accused of hating on it for some reason or another. But as a 53-year-old black man I do not hate this show at all. It heavily represents people like me, but I want it to be treated well and not just pushed with half-assedness, which is what I feel has happened on several occasions so far. Bad editing, bad cliffhangers, or no cliffhangers at all, disappearing characters with dropped storylines, etc. I can understand shows no longer wanting certain characters or  storylines, but why the "Judy Winslow" effect?
    • I love many things about BTG very much. For me, it's greatest strength is how the family relationships are so beautifully written. The deep love between family members while acknowledging each other's flaws--it's SO GOOD.  The best of the best is the two sister relationships: loving but very different sisters Dani and Nicole and adversarial sisters Kat and Eva. These two relationships can anchor the show for many years to come, in my opinion. (The one caveat is that the young and very talented Colby and Ambyr may want to leave the show sooner rather than later, but that's to be expected). My biggest problem with this show is this: Where are the romantic love stories? Where are the star-crossed lovers? Almost every character on this show is married, or in a committed relationship, or just fooling around. Right now the only potential for this are in the Ashley/Andre/Derek and Kat/Tomas/Eva situations. Like a lot of people, I feel the sooner they ditch Ashley and Derek, the better. I hate picking on actors, but the characters are so blah and bland it's like they're a parody of soap characters. I like Andre, and there's some indication they might have him become more serious about Dani, but I don't see that becoming a big love story. I could be wrong. Kat and Eva fighting over a man would be amazing. Over Tomas? No.  I've noticed on social media some people are starting to ship Kat and Jacob. I think that shows how much viewers long for a messy love story. There is much I enjoy about BTG and I have no intention of bailing on it. But over all my many years of watching soap operas, the thing that always got me the most excited about them was the question: "When are those two finally going to get together?"

Some initial thoughts.   1) a Who's who back in the day with an assortment of well known performers. 2) Surprised Debra Messing would agree to play a conservative character 3) Not surprised a network didn't pick this up because showing a conservative that is human/likable is a no no in Hollywood LOL
    • Yes from when they went on Let’s Make a Deal too. Pam stole Forrester designs for Jackie M. Of course a month later we saw Nick, Lesley, Owen, and Bridget all exit in the same episode.
    • Great pairing that seemed to come out of the blue! Around that time, it felt like Sheffer/Goutman didn’t really know what to do with Emily or Hal. And KM and BH had surprisingly great chemistry. It was good for Emily especially because she was coming off those unsympathetic years with the Tom affair and then running the Intruder and essentially just being a busybody.
    • I think the issue with Lulu is less the character (which was the issue in the Julie Berman days under Guza II) and more the lack of nuance. The current GH team rarely writes nuance for any character or at least can't sustain it for long, or they reserve it for a favored few. I also think the rooting interest at GH BTS often remains on preferred characters or actors - BLQ/Setton - vs. Laura's kids. So it's easy to make Lulu the heavy if you think Brook Lynn and Chase are the money on this show. I don't, but I think FV does. And that's not to say I think Amanda Setton is bad in the role, or that I would get rid of BLQ. I don't trend towards either (though I do think that if Setton's personal beliefs keep getting in the way of material I would reluctantly recast). I think Brook Lynn is essential to use as a lead presently. But I don't think it needs to be the black and white dichotomy of suffering young matriarch BLQ and aggressor Lulu. While it's good that unlike in the Guza years they can recognize that Lulu can be obnoxious and rash, can be her own worst enemy and that that is part of the character, it can be toned down or given more layers than it has of late. There's nothing wrong there the writing can't fix.
    • 1999: I just watched it. It felt so primetime. La Lucci is making history. Aretha's daydreaming segment. @Contessa Donatella Thank you, my love. So helpful and informative as always. adding them to my queue.
    • I know this isn’t a usual or anywhere near universal take, but I loved the relatively brief Hal/Emily relationship/marriage more than I ever thought I would have with KMH/BH.
