Well OLTL was considering Alexandra Wilson as Kelly before casting Gina. I think Originally Kelly was gonna be older.

I don't recall where in the thread it was discussed, however I think we can narrow down when Michael Malone's first credited air date is.  He is quoted as saying,"I suppose I have a special fondness for my original children: Luna who parachuted into a party at Viki's on the first day of my air shows.."  https://magnifmalonian.tripod.com/id30.htm    Based on an episode I just viewed, she appears at the very end on September 15, 1991.

Editing to add that I just checked and September 15, 1991 was a Sunday. So, I guess not sure of the exact date just yet.

I remember that site. Interesting if true. Jason Webb of course came in a month before.

This is coming from memory (who knows how good it is lol), but I think Jason was created by the previous writing team, while Gottlieb was involved in the casting.

I suspect that's correct, but it's a squeaker. We do know Gottlieb hired Mark Brettschneider and had Jason created.

Also, between Edge Jerome on GH, Anton Lang on AMC and Mark Kasanoff on ATWT, One Life to Live had to fulfill their early 90s men-with-ponytail quota. 😉

Jason was by far the best of that set. OLTL really wasted him.

My tastes have changed over the years clearly. At the time I didn't like him OR Kevin as played by Joey Thrower. Now I love them both.

Yeah Im liking this Kevin. I wonder why the recast. I heard that he & Robyn Griggs didnt get a long but they dropped Kevin/Stephanie and paired him with Lee Ann s why the recast. And I loved Kirk Geiger as Kevin.

I'm 49 now, and back then I was 100% obsessed with One life to Live and I knew all of this crap. I can not believe I don't fully remember anymore how this all played out. oy!

Joey brings such an innocence to Kevin that I love. It's going to be hard for me when we get to Kirk Geiger, who I enjoyed as well.

I wonder what was the overlap of OLTL viewers and people who saw The Silence of the Lambs in 1991? Alex utilizing a pen to aid in her escape is almost certainly not a coincidence.

Silence of the Lambs was so huge at the time - there were takes everywhere.

LMAO the cast purge in OLTL '91 is absolutely brazen and should be a model for doing these things in crisis mode today. Kerry Nichols gets bumped superfast in mid-late July, and now Andy #1 and Hunter Guthrie are being quickly cycled out of town. (And in a few weeks IIRC Rika Price is out too, and she's not alone either.) Amidst this rapidly concluding romantic B-storyline Father Tony walks into Wanda's to abruptly tell Andy and Wanda that he too is leaving. "My bus to Philly leaves in an hour." Exiting actors talking about their exits together and then GTFO: That's what I like to see! GH needs to take a page from this posthaste.

Hollyoaks did this with a number of longstanding characters (far more than yummy Father Tony) in 2010 when hack Brian Marquess took over - there was a scene of them sitting at the bus stop and leaving.

Soaps are much more averse to that concept now, for whatever reason (maybe guarantees).
