Members Contessa Donatella
Sorry about CurrentEricaEtAl but this clip? 11/10!!!!! DiabolicalDavidCanary is it any wonder he has more than a half dozen Emmys? (rhetorical) I'll bet I can give you an odd reply. Well, I like Brooke but the primary reason I do is because I like Julia Barr. However, I do have one way in which I do not like Brooke with its one odd specific reason & that is because I detest her daughter Laura "Swifferhead" & that falls on her because she gave birth to her & then reared her, so who else could I blame?
Members Soaplovers
I do agree that the story is going lightening fast. In fact, I think it would have worked a bit better if Mona was the one that recognized him instead of Erica.. and she's debating about whether to tell Erica or keep it to herself. It would have resulted in some fiery Erica/Mona scenes that were in character. I also think MDP went lightening fast with Erica's arc during her time. In March of 1989, Erica is still reeling from Travis being with Skye and trying to accept he's moved on while Jack is trying to help her with her business.. and by June/July.. Jackson/Erica are in bed together. That went too fast for me and it underscored my belief that Jackson was just a rebound for Erica and never her true love. (You'll see that a lot during the Agnes, Megan McTavish, and Broderick ers in the 90s). Where to start. She's smug, judgmental, a snob.. and tries to portray herself as better then other women when she's actually worse then those women. My favorite scene I came across was Gloria Marsh giving her the smackdown at the Martin House in December 1991 with Brooke visibly shaken. It was the rare time someone finally called out Brooke for throwing stones at glass houses.
Members alwaysAMC
LOL - I do get the smug, judgmental that you're referring to. She earned her tougher exterior though. Ohh I'd love to see that smackdown with Gloria. I don't remember that specific scene.
Members Maxim
That is something we agree on. The entire thing started off like a future-stalker situation... then it grew to Erica wanting to visit that circus every day (because she felt it was "wonderful and magical")... then feeling drawn to the clown who enticed her with his "performance"... So I should believe that Erica Kane - this glamorous millionaire socialite will go back and back to a low-budget circus... to see a "clown" and even run to catch him in the dressing room. And even after they saw his clippings and creepy photos of her... she was still pro-Barney. Don't even start me on the way she "fell" and lost consciousness... so that Barney can save her life. That was sooooooo fake. At least they could have written that something fell and hit her head... the way she spun around and fell reminded me of this... Please register in order to view this content And the bizarre level just went up and up and up... to a point where Erica sounds mad when she claims this is her father. It could have been better if she thought he was a dangerous stalker... but it was in fact her father... and she was very slowly coming to that conclusion... and that would have been more sane and more interesting for me. He has won half dozen Emmys?!!!! I didn't know this! WOOOW. He deserves them. Edited Monday at 02:45 PM by Maxim

Members Contessa Donatella
I just asked AI (Bing CoPilot) who/how many & they say he only won 5. Of course, they can be wrong. Here's their full reply: The top Daytime Emmy winners include: Anthony Geary: He holds the record for the most Daytime Emmy wins by an actor, with 8 awards for his role as Luke Spencer on General Hospital2. Erika Slezak: She has won 6 Daytime Emmys, all for her portrayal of Victoria Lord on One Life to Live. David Canary: He earned 5 Daytime Emmys for his dual roles as Adam and Stuart Chandler on All My Children. Susan Flannery: Known for her role as Stephanie Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful, she has won 4 Daytime Emmys. Me again. I know Slezak is correct. Have to poke around to see if any other source says Canary also had 6. BTW, has he started with the small Costume detail that was considered the tell that it was Stuart? Stuart has his shirt collar flipped; Adam never has it.
Members Maxim
No... I think it's coming though... But Dixie does sing like crazy to her child. I remember you giving me a trailer that she will... And she sings so well. They are so cute and lovely... I can't imagine anyone wanting to destroy that... (Adam). Sicko. I hope Tad rescues her. And I hope Adam loses custody of Adam 2. Please register in order to view this content
Members Contessa Donatella
Yea, Dixie's singing & to her son!!! Is it "You are my sunshine" or other songs?
Members Maxim
Other songs... I think. I think one time You are my sunshine... and I think she sang that to his face in the TV while he was kidnapped and Karen had send a video of him to show he's alive. I may be mistaken. But her voice is lovely. I rarely see a character be so sweet to her child. I think that's good in terms of writing... because it wouldn't be so powerful with now... Adam wanting to ruin that. I hate him and I love to hate him. I've never seen such a despicable human being in all fiction.
Members Contessa Donatella
And, Stuart is 180° polar opposite, never would you meet a sweeter, nicer man!!! David Canary had a dream gig!!!
Members Soaplovers
No she didn't. She acts as if she's above everyone.. yet is the biggest whore there is. After going after Erica's seconds.. and then stealing Janet's man Pierce (I was rooting for Janet to dispose of her).

Members DRW50
Cliff and Nina had been split multiple times and this last time had been over a year and a half, so I think viewers might have been willing to see him move on...beyond the racism, I do wonder if they thought it was too soon for Angie. Jesse had only been dead about six months, hadn't he? And then the story where Debbi decided to leave (I'm not sure if she left because of the story - probably not) was a love triangle involving her mother, which no one was asking for. I guess Debbi may have left anyway if they had not given her proper story, but it's a shame they couldn't find a way to have her in major story without focus on her love life. She was a widowed mother, a doctor...plenty of possibilities.
Members DemetriKane
Please register in order to view this content I wholeheartedly agree. I said it myself for many years. Yeah, the Adam gaslighting Dixon storyline was top-tier storytelling. I'm a huge Brooke fan and it is in my top 5 best AMC storylines Ever! sidebar: I believe every word in Megan’s book. Half of the things in there have already been confirmed; stuff like Kate/James' onset drama was being talked about on boards 2 decades ago. That's all.
