For anyone who still has SOAPnet, in case you wanted to know, I just noticed that on Monday they're starting to air 3 AMC episodes now at 1am, 2am, and 3am. I'm 68 episodes behind (LOL) but I peaked at some recent episodes and it seems they're at around August 07 in the aftermath of the story where Greenlee ran her & Spike off a cliff, resulting in his deafness. Also, Kendall prematurely giving birth to Ian. I'm glad I have all these episodes piled up in my DVR; While it's not the best period of the show ever, I'm still happy watching them for obvious reasons icon1.gif

I'm in May 07 and I have to make a few comments. Jonathan Lavery was the most smug, abusive, annoying voiced character in all of PV/soaps and I absolutely hated his relationship with Ava. Sabine Singh was embarrassing to watch as Greenlee in the beginning. I just can't say it enough. Ryan and Annie's wedding was beautiful. I can't believe they got rid of Brent Weber who played Sean Montgomery. The show made a mistake turning Hannah Nichols into a stalkerish, crazy bat. I LOVED the New Beginnings/Reality show stuff with Erica. I still want to know why the show got rid of Erica's talk show. What a mistake!

I thought Jonathan was one of those characters who had real potential but then he was evil, but no, it was a brain tumor, and then he was simple Jonathan, and then... it was just stupid. The actor was far more talented than Cam Mathison, and if TPTB had put as much effort into Jonathan as they did Ryan, he could have been a good character. I hated Sabine Singh's Greenlee, and I hated how Greenlee causing Spike's deafness was retconned into something that had always been there so as not to trash the character. I LOVED Sean Montgomery! I loved his relationship with all of Jack and Erica's family, and I was so sad when they got rid of him.

Erica's talk show(s) were awesome! I loved New Beginnings, and I especially loved The New Divorce! Jack and Erica were at their best when they were allowed to be funny, and the divorce show was full of that: Erica pretending to be a couple with Tad, them sniping at each other in front of the cameras, them reconciling but pretending to be apart for the show. LOVED IT. I even loved their brief He Said/She Said. I'm not sure what happened to He Said/She Said, but I know New Beginnings was canceled by the network when Erica was arrested and went to jail. It's a shame they dumped the show for jail because the whole Erica in jail storyline was awful.

Speaking of Jonathan and his "tumah," that was almost as irritating to me as Spike being deaf from birth-both stories seemed to have been changed in order to satisfy a mistake or to soothe an actor's definition of his or her character. Who knows? Not I.But what is interesting about Jeff Branson is that his Jonathan had huge chemistry with Leven Ramblin's Lily, but none with Ava. I don't know if that was an acting choice on his part, or what, but it was very noticeable to me.

I also loathed SS's Greenlee, possibly because the timbre of the actress's voice invariably gave me eye tics. I believe that what happened to her was unforgiveably ugly, but she was never Greens.

That is Josh Hamilton as Charlie in his short stint as Charlie, reprising the role of the Martin/Tyler heir apparent for Kate's untimely funeral (due to Kay Campbell's death from complications in a tragic car accident). William Mooney reprised as Paul Martin, and Nancy Frangione reprised as Tara Martin Jefferson.

Josh had two AMC connections. Josh's mother is Stephanie Braxton, the popular second actress to play Tara Martin in the 70's. His father, Dan Hamilton, portrayed Hal Shea, the first husband of Francesca Jame's Kitty Shea Tyler.

    • They are mentioning Aristotle Dumas in nearly every scene now.  Good Lord.  The poor actors must roll their eyes every time they get a new script.
    • BC played Jeffrey O'Neill, her last husband- the ninth.   Yes, April Fools Day 2009 is a date that will live in infamy for GL fans but I feel we all kinda expected it at that point.  The soap press reported that GA's return as Phillip was basically the show's final chance at getting the ratings up.  A Hail Mary if you will.  It didn't extend the show's life but it was fantastic to see Phillip back in SF where he belonged.
    • I think Alexa Havins has been polarizing. A large segment of fans love her and what she's done with the role, while others say she's a good actor but they hate the way Lulu is written -- as someone who interferes and is a harpy. I personally think she's been a terrific recast.
    • The perfect camp. And maybe it's regional? I don't recall seeing a "sponsored in part by..." tag during today's end credits, either, which is usually when I see the commercials.
    • Totally agree on TMG - perfect daytime camp. I always get Febreeze commercials, and did today. I wonder why you're not, that's odd.
    • Dipping my toes back in, and Leslie continues to be THE star. Girl has brought the same energy since day one. Anita has become tons more interesting when played with her former groupmates. Kat is such a massive disappointment. I can’t stand her.
    • this was a great episode. Leslie with Jacob was lol as were the scenes with Jacob/Kat.  I like that Eva is vulnerable at times. Makes it easier to like her. The writers need to do this with Dani more. (and Leslie). The Anita scenes were also well done.  Big credit to the writers today!

date: Thursday, June 5 | Christopher Dunn, Judy Tate | Michael V. Pomarico I love the way Vernon just observes Anita and knows exactly what's on her mind and yet still allows her to explain her way out of it all. He knows his wife. LAURA IS BACK AT WORK! I am very, very happy for you, and I love that Katherine, Mona, and Nicole are there to warmly welcome her back. It's been months! Uh-oh, Ms Dana, here comes the PD to raid your ass; I just wish Eva hadn't moved the helmet and gloves, because she could be caught NOW! Sharon continues to show how absolutely ugly she is with her nasty, distasteful attitude. Shame on her. Absolute shame. Dante Greene is the devil; a truly deplorable human being who clearly felt he could walk over someone without a care by luring the other three Articulettes with him via Anita. I admire that Anita is fully aware of things right now; she's considering everything: the positive and the negative. And with Vernon's support and wisdom, she's got this locked in. Oh, more backstory! There was a hiatus to mourn Barbara, and Anita did not come back. I hate to say it, but that does happen in real life. Choice to take a break, for whatever reasons, and you don't come back together. We've seen it before. I like how humble Eva is with her position at the salon and where she came from, especially in beginning as Nicole's assistant. I appreciate that Laura is struggling to transition back into her work space and that she's re-adjusting, with everyone giving her the grace she needs. I love that Jacob is not backing down to Dana and her attempts to "woo" him. YES ANITA! STAND UP FOR YOURSELF! Vernon saw what was coming and said, "I'm going to safety! This is for the women, not me," and he yeeted himself out of there. Katherine should have an office and a badge at this point; she's more than earned it. Oh, there is a slight flirt in Nicole's eye who is enjoying the continued run-ins with Ted; she's in love with him. And that isn't changing. Go on, Anita! You fight for yourself, girl! Speak the TRUTH! Oh, look, Eva and Laura. This is interesting. Very, very interesting. Notes: Febreze and no commercial; maybe it's only Tide that garners the commercials right now? Trisha Mann-Grant (Dana) continues to serve camp, but it's camp done right. It's not a comedy or a mockery; it's pure daytime camp. I wonder who they'll cast as Dante Greene if the role comes onto the scene. I appreciate them bracing the subject matter of suicide in a way that does not come off as... cliche or in poor taste. Tamara Tunie (Anita) is continuing to show up! I love this for her. A true matriarch and legend!

I love Leslie's nicknames for everyone.  Speaking of, is she going by Leslie or Dana because Ted keeps calling her Dana now. That was a nice scene between Eva and Laura.
