Members Jonathan
Speaking of Agnes Nixon, whatever happened with this Fremantle deal? How was/is she able to do this because I thought ABC owned the rights to the show? I'm still confused as to what this really meant for the show. I didn't see anything come of it in the last 2 years. http://www.fremantlecorp.com/%E2%80%9Call-my-children%E2%80%9D-offers-internet-initiative-satisfy-cross-platform-needs-global-market
Members All My Shadows
I love Agnes, but the thought of an 83-year-old standing in front of a wrecking ball does not not make me laugh...
Members ~bl~
Unfortunately she doesn't own them anymore, so it isn't like she can write books for us using the characters. I do appreciate her classy statement.
Members OLTL_fan
LOVE LOVE LOVE Agnes Nixon. What a beautiful statement.
Members Jonathan
Well, I think she meant she would keep them alive through another outlet, like books, etc. Wouldn't it be great if she had a bible sitting around of another soap?
Members All My Shadows
And trusted someone to see it through for her? I'd love it.

Members Jonathan
I'm still digging some info regarding this Fremantle deal from 2 years ago. Check this out. It's a product "catalogue" of available shows. It includes All My Children and Loving and The City. Producer is listed as Agnes Nixon and associates for All My Children and Dramatic Creations for Loving / The City. I'm still confused as to what this means. Can anyone shed any light on this? I wonder if this is what Agnes means in terms of doing everything possible to keep the shows alive. http://www.fremantlecorp.com/catalog/drama
Members Lust4Life76
Apparently Sweeney wanted to cancel all three soaps but Frons insisted they keep General Hospital...for now. Sorry if this has already been touched upon elsewhere, but I read it on Daytime Confidential. Erik
Members Juliajms
Yeah. That's what made me realize that soaps really are done. GH was just a hair's breadth away from getting the axe too.
Members Soapsuds
It's being discussed on the AMC and OLTL canceled thread.

Members All My Shadows
Her show's ratings have been in the cellar for years, I see no reason why her gravelly ass should be excited. When the axe falls on these boring ass shows, hers will be one of the first to get bludgeoned. See, I wish they had a number for AMC episodes, but I guess that's hard to do with the show still airing. It does say "60 minutes or 30 minutes," which may or may not confirm my long-held suspicions that they started saving the episodes before the hour expansion. Hilariously, AMC is the most noteworthy show in their catalog.
Members Jonathan
I think when they mean 30 minutes, they mean a "cutdown" version of a 60 minute show.Maybe Agnes still owns a portion of the show?? I posted this in the video section. I think Fremantle uses it as a sales promo. Please register in order to view this content
