No, thanks.

Again, why should I support an industry that gave up on supporting itself long ago? I have no incentive to watch these shows anymore, and apparently so do many other people. The soap industry stopped planning a "future" long ago.

Didn't Nelson try to plan an AMC boycott two years back or so? Anyway I agree with you, which I don't want ANY of the other soaps canceled--not only do I have little hope of them lasting long, I also have no real history for them. I don't think every soap fan will just flip on to another soap the way that in the 70s, because of many factors, they prob would.

Well, Nelson did claim Brad had more writing talent than Bill.

 Wha?? And Carlivati is the top writer in the history of OLTL too I'm sure...

+1 Michael Storm would especially be great, he has mentioned a lot how much he'd come back in a heartbeat and he is a good friend of Vicki's (and of course then it would make more sense for Judith to return too). And as DeeDee said it would be nice if some of the forgotten recurring vets--at the top for me would be Renee--returned.

Whose decision was it to stop Storm's appearances? I know that Gottlieb demoted him to recurring, but he continued to appear fairly regularly through the end of the decade. Was it JFP who did away with the character altogether?

Instead of just supporting the show they love, Nelson, Jamey and others chose to trash AMC because they thought that anything good that happened to AMC came at OLTL's expense. I have no doubt that they'll spend the next year gunning for GH and blaming them for the fact OLTL got canceled.

*Exactly*. It wasn't merely saying what they enjoyed and what they hated--it was basically bullying one show because they thought that was the only way to save the other.

Yes. Can't remember why though.

Think was during the Pratt era which many disliked--so that's his right but even back then it seemed really more about him being scared OLTL would be canceled to save AMC.

Re Michael Storm/Larry--sadly I think he just kinda got forgotten abou the way characters on recurring with few family ties to the canvas often do--but yeah under Gottlieb he was still used a fair amount in hospital scenes as kinda the go to doctor. However while I wouldn't blame JPL I'm sure if anyone did mention bringing back Larry, she would have asked why. Didn't Larry actually make one or two appearances in the early 2000s when Malone/Griffith were back or am I completely imagining that...

Did Wanda Webb get an exit?

I keep meaning to watch that--I'll have to check it out this weekend. Seems odd she wasn't a big fan of Gottlieb era though since it gave her some great material (although i think the true DID story happened just after she left).

According to Wikipedia.....

Wanda finally left town in 1994 when she remarried and moved to Seattle to open a bookstore.

He moved to California and stopped recurring.

Larry appeared in a fairly substantial guest role during Viki's heart transplant story in 2004, as her doctor and friend. That was the last time he was seen.

Wait I saw in the status updates something about Hershey??? I haven't been reading every page of this. But what's up with that?

Okay, so what do you guys think about one last crossover? Not a crossover storyline obviously but like a short really good "What If?" Valentine to the fans with say Erica and Viki or Dorian? Erica and Viki bumping into one another having a brief convo and wishing one another well... one of those really warm gifts to the audience-type scenes like when Erica got the 19 bouquets of roses ("19's always been my lucky number. "). With Erica and Dorian maybe a bitchy little exchange at the cosmetics counter or something.

I kind of think that would be a nice gesture. I miss the days where both shows were more intertwined. As much as the babyswitch storyline was maligned, by fans of both shows, I really enjoyed that aspect of it. Remember Dorian and Adam and Mary?

Soap opera fans hope the Hershey Co. will help them restore 'All My Children' and 'One Life to Live'

Soap opera fans are a passionate group, and they aren't happy about ABC canceling "All My Children" and "One Life to Live." They contacted the Hershey Co., requesting the company stop advertising on ABC to support their cause.

Right after Cheryl King heard her favorite shows would be canceled last week, she found other fans on Facebook. They've joined together with plans to boycott, picket, call and e-mail ABC and its advertisers in hopes of getting the shows reinstated. King lives in Fairview Twp., where she started watching "One Life to Live" with her mother 30 years ago.

Different types of Hershey chocolate bars are seen on a shelf in a Pittsburgh store.

Wednesday fans targeted the Hershey Co., calling, e-mailing and writing on its Facebook page, asking the Derry Twp. company to stop advertising on ABC.

The Hershey Co. would not discuss or acknowledge any contact. "I don't have any information to share on consumer contacts today," said spokesman Kirk Saville. "I can tell you we take consumer response seriously."

He wouldn't say whether the company would evaluate their advertising outlets. "Hershey will continue to advertise that most effectively reach our target consumers," he said.

But fans believe Hershey will side with them.

"We are moms and grandmoms and the people making the Easter basket," said Deanna Paige Uranga. "We are the people that buy Hershey. So they need to show us that they value us." Uranga lives in Los Angeles and she set up Rally for AMC and OLTL on Facebook 15 minutes after she heard about ABC canceling her favorite shows.

After soap fans deluged Hoover with messages Sunday, the company announced Monday it will no longer advertise on ABC.
