April 19, 201114 yr Member Well, while we wait, I had a random thought... anyone know if Melissa Claire Egan has made a public statement about AMC? I'd say her timing was either really good so she had a leg up on finding work, or she wishes she would have stayed through to the epic end. Just curious. I'm sure her public statement won't answer my question, haha, but just curious what she had to say about it.

Her timing I think purely was so she could try pilot season. Does she tweet?
April 19, 201114 yr Member Ahh, you must have been at the TnT event huh? Yeah I heard, lol. I'll message you. I think she's probably done with soaps. She seemed to acknowledge in her note that soaps were coming to an end. Yeah I attended the event. Gina and Tom hung out with us for quite a while at the end and it was pretty enlightening so message me.
April 19, 201114 yr Member If she was on a British soap she would be a rough and ready goddess there for decades. Kim Zimmer would be f!cking incredible on the UK-style trailer park soap I've always wanted to see. That's where she's always belonged, and it's too bad that type of soap was never successful here. She coulda been somebody. She coulda been a contenda.

April 19, 201114 yr Member Insider: How ABC Jusitifed Canceling Soaps and Why Hoover Pull Out Won't Change their Mind Basically confirming what we all suspected and have debated basically since All My Children was moved to LA. ABC was putting all its eggs in one basket and then dropped it....
April 19, 201114 yr Member So ABC all along was going to cancel OLTL but decided to cancel AMC as well..hmmmmmm
April 19, 201114 yr Member Hoover pulling its ads will only hurt the soaps. No ads = no money = earlier end date.
April 19, 201114 yr Member Hoover pulling its ads will only hurt the soaps. No ads = no money = earlier end date. I honestly don't care right now. It might hurt both AMC and OLTL right now but in the long run right now ABC says it won't hurt but it will.

I sure don't believe GH is safe either as Jamey who had the scoop so early said it was almost cancelled too.
April 19, 201114 yr Member If ABC can easily replace Hoover with any one of a number of other advertisers, then what's the difference?
April 19, 201114 yr Member I sure don't believe GH is safe either as Jamey who had the scoop so early said it was almost cancelled too. It's not. There have been many reports saying its gone in September 2012.

Unless all other major corporations start boycotting ABC, it won't impact them much. Again, Hoover is replaceable, and a competitor will fill their commercial space for the same price.
