AMC and OLTL Canceled!

^It's a surprisingly good read. And I don't read, well not since completely my Thesis. LOL Full price or on sale, I'd definitely recommend picking it up.

I plan to purchase a copy for my mom for Mother's Day, so I'll read it when she is finished with it. We all got hooked on soaps by our mother's I think, or at least the majority of us. my mom isn't plugged into the online soap world.... I had the unfortunate task of informing her on Thurs that the show was no more. She's been watching since she was a teenager in the early 70's. These are more than just television shows, they are a way of life I think. Its going to be such an adjustment post September of this year in this house.

Already? I think Susan will definitely profit off the cancellation. Book sales will definitely jump. Free publicity for her.

I think sells all their books at "20-30% OFF!!" I've seen books on the NYT bestseller list with sale stickers on them. I think it's more about moving inventory than the so-called value of the book.

Nope..nothing...so eerie

Susie's moving on. Next!

painful. no mention of amc... very weird.. (hsn)

She must have specifically told them she did not want to speak about it.... since she is promoting something not related to All My Children perhaps she just wanted to stay on message. Maybe its just too hard for her to talk about yet? I mean as much as Susan is probably ready for retirement, she must be utterly devastated.

Someone just phoned in and a mention about the cancellation.

One of the callers just said that they're all saying "prayers to turn around the All My Children situation," and SuLu was very gracious about that. The caller also said something about trusting anything that SuLu's name is on, which I thought was very sweet.

The only way I would pay $320 bucks for the Malibu Pilates is if Jacob Young was included in the purchase.

Who does everyone think will get fired from OLTL before the finale?

Well, obvi OLTL has way more dead weight/hangers-on than AMC does, so it definitely works in their favor to have a few extra months to ship them out. I'd love to believe the Fords would leave Llanview for a new beginning, but I'm sure they're here to stay. I betcha Destiny and Shaun get the boot, though, which would suck because I think they deserve to stay more than the Fords.

Those who make the least effort at OLTL are those who are most likely to be stars to the end.

I saw a comment that said only people online disliked the Fords and that ratings were up, but actually, ratings crashed to all time lows when the Fords were on 24/7. Only when some of them were given reduced airtime did the ratings increase. And by then it was too late.

OLTL was probably going no matter what but if the Fords and Rex had been gone long ago, there might have been a chance.

I think SL is probably furious. I mean, look, she stood in front of us on Tuesday night and denied the rumors said she was told they weren't true. Body language tells a lot about a person, and hers was not one of someone lying. She was LIED too and made a fool of. I'd walk if I were her, contract be damned (I'd probably gut Frons too). At the very least, I hope she stops towing party lines and makes some demands for Erica. They owe her.

but that's cause it's signed, right?

NOW...I would LOVE to see that but not happening. Susan wouldnt do that.

I don't think so but I could be wrong.

She'll be a pro right up until the end, but they should definitely go to her for some input into how she feels the story of Erica Kane should be wrapped up. If Broderick and Nixon are in charge, I hope they would do that.

They should have Erica humiliate and demean upstart WRCW programming chiefs.
