Okay, I believe you! :D Every soap star I have ever known personally has been a nice, down-to-earth person. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for a lot of my New York actor friends once they moved to La La. And that goes for those who found success and those who didn't, I swear that place changes people if one isn't careful, but that's for another thread...

AMC like all the shows lost it's structure and foundation.

When characters like Ryan and Greenlee are front and center and there are no Tylers and few Martins it points to a lack of respect and interest in the shows history.

Sure,we knew new young characters, but they should have nurtured the core families.Mark Dalton's children,Linc and Kelly's,Jeff Martin's etc.

Instead those characters were sent out of town when they were deemed too old and forgotten about.

The whole thing with soaps is that attachment and long term commitment and if characters keep going, there's little incentive to keep watching or tune back in.

Aw, Emily Ann... I always thought Lindsay Price looked like Liz Vassey's Tempura'd twin. ^_^ I hope Chuck, Donna, and Benny get at least a flashback. Ol' Billy Clyde too.

All My Shadows, I'ma need you to stop switchin' avatars.

Terrell Tilford (ex-Greg, OLTL) on Facebook:

To my OLTL fans and AMC comrades: WE salute you & your efforts to support a genre that the network has obviously lost faith in. Enjoy the final ride of both these shows, celebrating the longevity that they have endured and keeping yourself open to experiencing new SCRIPTED programs you will ultimately see all of your favorites actors graduate to... Nothing lasts forever, but your SUPPORT and Encouragement do... keep it moving...

I tried to, but then it was getting too big. I decided to just randomly throw faces up there, just to try to give everyone a little reminder of alllllll of Agnes's churn.

It really gets me when these people who have every right to just shrug their shoulders and go on their way take the time to address the fans and their old colleagues, and not just address us but address in such heartfelt ways.

LOL, I'm teasing, and I wanted to change mine too 'cept my avatar is saved to my ex's computer. :( I can't lose the Hucci-Lubers thumpin' it out, and besides, as far as AMC avatars go you can't beat The Looch.

Noun and Then

Words That Shaped the Week: "Donald Trump," "Aquafresh," and "Deficit"

by Juli Weiner April 15, 2011, 4:30 PM

YEL.jpg

For your edification, a look back at the phrases, nouns, and neologisms that have, for better or for worse, shaped the week's national discourse.

Cannes [kahn], noun: A city in the South of France that hosts an annual international film festival, the fantastic lineup of which (Tree of Life! Melancholia!) was just announced.

Jared St. James [ja-red saynt jeymz], noun: One of the 15 most ridiculous character names from the just-canceled ABC soap opera One Life to Live.

Beige [beyjh], noun: A color, occasionally seen on the exterior of cars, that ranks among Stick Shift's list of 10 automotive plagues.

Deficit [def-uh-sit], noun: A subject of bitter contention between Democrats and Republicans, Democrats and Democrats, and Republicans and Republicans.

Rocky Mountain wolves [rahk-ee moun-tn woolvz], noun: A species of gray wolf that Congress recently removed from the endangered-species list for reasons having nothing to do with a precipitous population bump.

Paul Ceglia [pawl seg-lee-uh], noun: A failed wood-pellet salesman who claims to have corresponded with Facebook friend-in-chief Mark Zuckerberg in 2003; a gentleman threatening Facebook with a lawsuit who is not a Winklevoss.

Aquafresh [ah-kwa fresh], noun: A toothpaste whose logo is the doppelgänger of Mitt Romney's exploratory-committee logo.

Donald Trump [don-ulhd truhmp], noun: A reality-television star whose free time is disproportionate to his editing abilities.

In memoriam: Sidney Lumet and Sidney Harman.

Matt Walton cracks me up.....lol

With heavy heart I bid farewell to my alma maters #AMC & #OLTL. Thanks for the cultural legacy and the gigs! Blessings to the casts & crews!

Weirdly I heard the news while trying to use my expired #OLTL ID to get my family into Walt Disney World for free! Didn't work by the way.

    • Do I promise that I left that conversation? Yeah, sure, if you want to call it a promise. It just wasn't going anywhere. It's also not a big deal.
    • What do you mean?  Sarah told Xander about the drug as soon as she found out about it, and before eating the scone.   She also told Xander not to buy the hospital in March because the impending lawsuits from the sabotaged set of Body & Soul would eventually lower the price of the hospital.  In fact, she called it a money pit at the time, and now she and her daughter stand to make a fortune. Just as, she knew that Philip's claim to the fortune were both fraudulent, and a good distraction to keep Xander from making a bid until the time was right... Even more proof that Dr. Sarah Horton-Kirakis is the true evil genius of Salem.
    • Now what was I just talking about? lol. I was not expecting to see Jacob today.    VERNON!!!!!!! LOL.
    • No Tea. No Shade. Just facts. Oooo...Kat vs Eva...the gift that keeps on giving.   I can't believe we are getting friction between Andre and Nicole. That said...loving these scenes.
    • LOL!!! We have no reason to think they are not hygienic!!!
    • Annnnd it's time!!!   Oooo more developing of the Anita story.   Bill and these hand moments.   OOOOOOOOO...it's a Jazmen episode!!!   So Nicole is hitting the anger part of her grief, I see.    Hehe. TIDE sighting!!
    • -- Kai spends more time in the hospital than anyone I know. I've never seen a patient held back from being discharged like this guy. -- All this concern over Lulu's adoption story is wild. Just what in the hell in that story will upset people? Am I missing something?
    • Except she was the last to know yesterday
    • While I'm waiting for the new episode to start...let's talk about yesterday's episode.   I honestly really loved it. THIS is what I mean when I talk about how there should be an A story that is dealing with its fallout while the next A story is being built. And then there was even a C plot going on.    The fallout from the Silk Press Sheila/Eva reveal continued. And there were so many elements in play. Beats were being played. And I loved every moment of it. Ted/Eva defiantly going to the country club and being more successful at it than Bill&Hayley. I love that Ted is willing to fight for his marriage. I really want to see where it goes. I didn't like the town gossip, cuz we already have one in Nosy Nurse, but she did keep the tension up. The Nicole/Dani dynamic as sisters being in play...and I'll be in the minority and say that while Dani was Dani, I didn't find her being self-absorbed at all in those scenes. She has already been established as being willing to go there. For herself. AND her sister. So her going in on Ted and Eva was like her. Her dragging her sister out of the house was also like her. No problems. And I can't say how much I loved Jan getting her moment with Silk Press Sheila. Not to mention how much I LOOOOOOVE the showdown between SilkPress and Eva at Orpheny Gene in front of everybody!!!! Giving old school soap. And SilkPress's warning she got more up her sleeve (with a snap) was delicious. And awww at Martin comforting Eva. Kat ain't going to like that.   Speaking of Martin...IT'S HAPPPPENIIIIINGGGGGG!!! Now we are getting words from the night in question. So good to see them FINALLY building out that OTHER A story they started. And good on Martin for backing out from the presidency. I already said I love that the writers found a plausible reason for him to back out. The plot point served its purpose...to get a sense of Martin's personality. Now that he's been built up so we know what to expect from him, no need for it. Moreso since SilkPress's presence will continue to trigger that secret right out of him. Fingers crossed.   And while all that goodness was going on...we got a B plot in the form of Doug/Joey/Vanessa. I like it. It's been allowed to grow. All POVs have been seen except for Joey's really. So seeing him put Doug on the hook officially (so this should be climaxing by end of May then since Doug has one week?) because he wants Doug to move money through Vanessa's business. I continue to wonder where it will go now that I know (and apparently missed it) what Joey's endgame is. I mean...will Doug do it? Will Joey get payback on Vanessa? Or will Vanessa fall into Joey's bed? I feel the show has done a good job developing Doug and Vanessa enough that I am invested in the story. Sidenote...ask and I shall receive aka Dani/Vanessa brief moment at the country club. I really miss them together.    As for the C plot...well...I'm in the minority as well. I actually liked the Ashley/Derek scenes. Not cuz the typical soap himbo scenes...lol...but it was just a nice counterpoint from the other stories going on. And it was just nice to have an episode with A, B, and C stories going on and NOT be jarring and ALSO no quick cuts to another scene. It FLOWED. I actually like Ashley and while her last appearances in solo Derek scenes were DOA, I felt there was more going on. At least this time. It was building on what was already growing...Ashley's annoyance at Derek moving in. Derek...being a typical guy. I am hoping that will go somewhere. And I love that we got another Jan/Ashley scene. At the moment, it's the only thing giving us a clue to Ashley's inner life. That said...I really do want to see her out of her story bubble. There's so much potential with her and her career as a nurse. Moreso given what's going on there.    As for the mysterious stranger...well...I wonder how they are going to play it. Since most of us (but not all so not discussing it farther) know a bit about him.    As for the coda...it is bittersweet now knowing it was Maurice's last scenes. I mean...what do you all think? A nice point for him to stop? We got to see Eva accepting by the father she always wanted to be with since Day 1. Nicole looks on. Quite soapy.
