Members SnCCorinthos4ever
Floods, bushfires, earthquakes and god only knows what else. There is also now a tsunami warning in the pacific including Hawaii
Members ATWT_GL_fan
I agree what the fu*k is this world coming too. I don't want to die if that happens anytime soon with all of these bad events happening everywhere.
Members Kylie
The Northridge quake here in 1994 was 6.7 and there was damage 85 miles way...and I CANNOT even fathom what is happening in Japan. It's like watching a horror movie. The lives, livelihoods, lost. OMG. California is on Tsunami watch...no warning though, but that's how far stuff like this reaches. Members Scotty
Other U.S. areas included in the warning are the territories of Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, and Wake Island...also they have raised the magnitude up to 8.9. And I agree with you....things are so crazy right now. Look at all the crippling snowstorms this year, and the places that saw snow that hardly ever do. Not to mention droughts, intense hurricanes, and just general screwed up weather pretty much everywhere anymore. Mother Nature is NOT a happy camper right now apparently... Members Dion
New Zealand is on Tsunami watch.
Members Kylie
NOAA just said that there is major water heading to Hawaii! YIKES! This "Ring of Fire" is a bad, bad, thing. ETA: California Tsunami Advisory is expected. Just means to stay off the beaches and out of the harbors.
Members Ryan Chamberlain
Oh God. All I can keep thinking of is my friend Kate who is in Japan. I really am praying that she's safe. Also, what if that whole 2012 thing is real. I mean, everything seems so crazy here lately. They also been thinking there's gonna be an earthquake on the New Madrid fault soon too and that's where I'm at. I'm screwed.
Members Sylph
It's devastating. Japan has a good system for monitoring these kinds of events (from the BBC):
Members SnCCorinthos4ever
I agree Mother Nature is not a happy camper at the moment. Some one has pissed her off big time. Watching CNN T the moment and the are saying that Hawaii will be hit soon, but it looks like the tsuanmi is getting smaller it height. Some areas on Australia and New Zealand are on alert as well. Members Sylph
Well, just type Mir mine in one of the search engines to see why. Or, alternatively, check this out: http://www.usmra.com/photos/bigpit/ No wonder Nature isn't happy.
Members Adam
The entire coast of British Columbia is also under a tsunami warning. I just saw a live shot from San Fransisco and there was a man playing in the water with his dog!! Are these people nuts? Sure there may not be extensive damage, but the waves will be so unpredictable... someone being that reckless could easily get swept out to sea. The pictures from Japan are absolutely horrifying. My thoughts are with everyone effected by this disaster.
Members Kylie
I just saw where two guys in Oregon got swept off the rocks. Idiots. There's damage in two California cities. Crescent City and Santa Cruz. Incredible isn't it? That there can be damage THIS far. I haven't heard about Hawaii. I know they had 5-6ft waves. Was their any damage there? Administrator Toups Posted March 11, 2011 Administrator Share Posted March 11, 2011 These clips are like something out of a movie. And you could still see people driving on the roads. Those poor people. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/p75WM96-u1A" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
