As Carl said, P&G moved MK to GUIDING LIGHT from ANOTHER WORLD, where she had been playing Angie Perrini, b/c she had sued Paul Rauch for (surprise, surprise) sexual harassment. Needless to say, when Rauch took over GL years later, MK was gone soon after.

Or worse, they'd actually team up, so to speak, and make everyone else's lives living hell.

I think a big problem w/ SSH was the fact that her mother, Elizabeth Harrower, had been a writer for many years @ DAYS and Y&R. It's sort of like why people distrusted the professional relationship between Bill Bell and his offspring, Lauralee; except, in Papa Bell's case, he wielded considerably more clout.

Yeah, the Ben Warren non-mystery must've been the final straw for her. The entire "storyline" was just too insulting for words.

I guess it's time to mention the Jane Wyman Falcon Crest feuds - supposedly she had conflicts with Simon Mackorindale, Mel Ferrer (he blamed her for his exit), Robert Foxworth (he insisted they get the same size trailer; when he began directing episodes, she had it put in her contract that she could direct too, even though she had no intention of doing so), Lana Turner (they disliked each other so much that soon their scenes together had to be filmed separately and then spliced together).

I think Hubbard's contract expired, and she walked. Not that FMB fought hard to keep her, though. I just think she (FMB) did not realize how valuable Lucinda had been to ATWT's ongoing success. As someone once said (and I'm paraphrasing), Lucinda was the kind of character, and EH the kind of actor, you didn't show right at the start of an episode, b/c it would build up suspense for the audience.

Liz quit because she hated the stories they gave Lucinda, they wouldn't give her story input, and I think she felt that Behr was mocking her (she talked about Behr saying Hubbard could have a blooper reel called "Liz Unleashed." or something like that).

I suspect we would have had a few withdrawals next year if Israel had won. I don't think many people would relish going to Jerusalem as things stand now. Not to mention it would have been a prime target for terrorist attacks.
    • And they've given us plenty. Sets, outdoor scenes, music licensing, etc. And that was the point of me using DAYS... so. It's obvious the casino set is not intended for long-term use, hence why it's likely it wasn't as evolved as the other community sets, etc.

    • I just had thought of how to save the Perkins family. (Inspired by Rituals) -- What if Marisa Perkins was Augusta Lockridge's sister? Fictionally, they could've both been local girls, one married rich and one married poor. Originally, I was going to suggest that Marisa be Sophia's sister, but then I realized Joe and Kelly would've been first cousins.  Of course, it would've truly inspired Sophia was if Rosa Andrade sister, with Rosa and Santana moving in to help CC raise the kids once Sophia disappeared.  While this could've avoided both gross CC and Santana affairs, the times were not right for a story about intersectional inequity.
    • https://www.instagram.com/p/DJxW5DLJLId/ Another World is my forever favorite soap opera. But it's finale is almost universally hated by its fans. What this is, is an edit where I've deleted everything I didn't like!!!
    • The Perkins family had potential to be a nice alternative to the more dysfunctional Capwells and wackier Lockridges... but I think a few factors did in the family. 1) Recasting of Joe Perkins 2) Bad casting of the Perkins Patriarch, and the one note writing for that character. 3) Lack of antagonistic interaction between the Capwells/Lockridges and Perkins.  (There was no awkwardness between Jade/Ted.. or CC disapproving of his son being friends with that Perkins girl, etc). 4) Wasting of Jade thus wasting the potential of the actress (which was realized on Days of Our Lives).  She had more potential than Laken oddly enough. The only member of the Perkins family that had appeal and a somewhat thought out story arc was Amy.
    • @GymnastGuyThanks for posting the three new Capitol 1985 episodes today. The two labeled March 12, and 13 are misidentified. The March 12 labeled one actually aired November 12 1985 which I figured out because Kenny Rogers' movie Wild Horses aired November 12th and it was announced over the "March 12" Cap credits. In addition, Craig Carlson is listed in the April credits but not the March. Craig left Capitol sometime after July 1985 before he rejoined OLTL in the credits by October 15, 1985; he was replaced on Cap by Radcliffe and Hamner. In these posted episodes Radcliffe/Hamner names appear in the March 85 episodes but not in the April.
