I was just kidding. I liked Claire when she first came on the show. But she wasn't emmy worthy. The strongest stuff that she had was pretty generic legal stuff, that didn't allow her enough room to be worthy of an emmy.

I thought Jackie Zeman should have submitted herseld. Between all 3 of her scenes this year, she had about 5 minutes of airtime. Nice shorrt reel!

JUUUUUUUUUST Kidding. Even I'm not that delusional.

No, the process was changed last year. That is why we have a who is submitting themselves where list coming out now. Now the pre-nominations are done by an industry wide ballot.

I don't know what happened to my post...so I will repeat it here...lol

I hope Eric Sheffer Stevens gets a nomination. He truly deserves it.

Van Hansis wrote why he didnt submit himself in his Facebook account.

Child please! Dahlia Salem was one of the more buzzworthy new GH characters at the time. I think it'd be stupid to just pooh-pooh her stuff as mere "generic legal stuff." She was great and really held her own.

Sometimes, we all wonder...

I doubt she would even try with a show that fired her. But i agree, she shouldnt be in supporting at amc.

As for Hapka, i think when he started they (his agents/people/himself) prob lied. Its pretty common. I would bet it is 82.

I agree. I love the pre nom list too, thats exactly what it should be and was throughout the year. My only replacement would be Reckell for Aniston, who belongs in supporting IMHO.

I would hardly call Alicia Minshew a lead actress for this year. She was barely on and she spent most of it supporting Ryan and Greenlee's story. This is one time I feel she shoyuld have been placed in the Supporting Actress category.

Kelly Monaco as lead on GH? Im a fan but girl had NO storyline and hasnt in a couple of years. All Sam has done was support Jason, basically giving him someone to talk to. KellyM basically just stood there in her scenes, agreeing and propping the guy up. Didnt exactly call for much acting. I could have played Sam in 2010

I agree about Minshew. I can not believe she went in under lead on the one year she should be supporting after eating the show for a good 5 years and always being too much of a coward to place herself in lead.

Kelly M is lead on GH. That is what the lead females do.

how the heck is she lead? She had NO storyline and did nothing byt serve as a prop to support Jason. I wouldnt even nominate her for supporting actress bc she had no material to work with. Im surprised Vanessa didnt get in bc she was the obvious choice for lead actress of GH

i was being sarcastic.

kelly monaco plays a very typical GH female role, except its a long term character and not a short stint. she smiles and tells jason what a big penis he has and how amazing he is and how he does nothing wrong.

I am surprised Vanessa didnt put herself in. And to be honest, Julie Berman is prob the next leading lady next to Vanessa/Laura.

i am also surprised and disappointed Becky isnt in supporting. She had a shitty story but did some amazing work.

Really, Dahlia got buzz? All I ever remember hearing about was how Claire would be just another Sonny ho who would be in his bed by the end of the year, ruining her career and being pathetic. And it happened.

Oh and a HUUUUUUGE +1 to your comment Jack!

That was a little backhanded, but I'll take it anyway.

Were you even posting on this board when she first showed up to town? I don't know if your parents allowed you on the internet back then, but alot of people were abuzz by how interesting and hard-nosed she was and how she really held her own against Sonny. I mean, we all knew Sonny would get off, but Claire busting his balls didn't make it any easier. And Dahlia Salem played that [!@#$%^&*] for all it was worth.

I mean, alot of people called it and saw how it was gonna play out, but it was still great to watch her in the beginning. Alot of people liked her.

And I never said Dahlia wasn't good or popular, but she had about 5 days worth of good material before she became Sonny's bitch, so I think she would have only embarrassed herself by submitting.

    • Thanks for that. It was great to see her in an interview. She's very likable. Although it was somewhat confusing. What new soap is she talking about going on audition for in 1973. Was it The Young and the Restless? The editing around that part was weird and choppy. I felt like there was a chunk missing or something. And I'm not sure why she was saying she got colorectal cancer from HPV and said it's because she never got the HPV vaccine but then said she's never had anal sex. I'm not a doctor but that didn't seem to make any medical sense. I don't know. Maybe I'm tired. It just seemed like some of this interview didn't make sense.
    • If it helps any, the last script cover from the Elman papers that I have is from episode #3,736 airdate November 15, 1977. Writers are the Hollands with Frank Salisbury.
    • B&B really does look incredible. The lighting and the polished sets have made a significant difference how visually appealing the show is now.
    • I found the problem with the Labine era was that the show lost some humour when the Labines came on and it could be dull. They also didn't seem to understand some of the characters. As others have said, it looks fantastic in comparison to the next regime but I just remember boredom being the primary response.
    • Something I didn't realize: Frank Ashmore, who played Monica's investigator Corrigan in 1981, was also Victor, the third guy in the cockpit, in Airplane!
    • Thanks, maybe I will skim through those episodes.  I have previously binged late 1985 through early 1987; April-June, August 1992 (I skipped Carlo Hesser murder trial), Jan-March 1995 and I began watching in 2006. I just struggle to stay consistent with routines especially binging routines haha
    • I could've sworn we went over the Bobbie thing a while ago, and saw her introduced to Rick and Lesley as "Nurse Barbara" in very late '77? Or was that early '78? I know the clip is online. Jackie always credited Marland with creating her IIRC.
    • Thanks.  Loon Lake - very on the nose. With that "dad" outfit Bo looks even more like Cassie's father...
    • Luna parachutes herself into Llanview at the end of September 15th 1991.
    • That lengthy flashback does make me wonder if she threw out a lot, but I agree it may have been too easy an urban legend. Would these have been her very first episodes? I imagine you could feel the big difference when Bobbie arrived, alongside the Quartermaines filing in, the return of Heather, and Lesley/Rick/Monica/Alan heating up. It does remind me that there must have been some dud moments in the 60-minute format we just don't see because little of the period is available in full.  I wonder how much longer the Dantes lasted under Marland.  David Hamilton is so disgusting. I appreciate the show making him disgust as some shows when they have stories about older men or women manipulating teens aren't as honest.  I can't see this Rick being friends with him. Chris Robinson's Rick, on the other hand, I could believe.
