I wish Angie would have swung around and caught her in the eyeball with that cane. "Wow Angie, with my eye all bandaged up I can half realize what it's like to be like you. (sotto voce) Just like the child I'm carrying..." Now that's soap opera folks.

Take that article with a grain of salt, considering it says Erica had an abortion in "1971" more than once... which is not the case. Someone else didn't do their research, either, because the abortion happened in 1973 after the decision in Roe v. Wade -- which is why Erica's abortion was a landmark story in television history because it was the first legal abortion in daytime drama. I don't know how anyone could miss that important fact before writing that piece, but whatever.

Nevertheless... I, for one, am glad abortion isn't a heavily used story device. The infrequency lends itself to the idea that abortion isn't an easy decision for a woman to make, and it also makes the storyline, when approached, that more significant. Personally, the last thing I think the genre needs to do is make abortion stories as disposable as "Who's the Daddy?" stories or even rape stories.

And I agree with you! In addition to your point, I also think they need to stop having characters who have no business being parents getting pregnant. For instance, with AMC, there's no reason Kendall should have two young children. None. The character's role on the show does not lend itself to being a mother of two young boys. If she's going to be the "unpredictable, troublemaking schemer" Kane daughter that takes after Erica, she has NO BUSINESS being a mother... Which comes full circle back to the 1973 abortion. The Erica Kane character would've been DEAD if they had made her a mother that soon.

I absolutey loved the scene after Annie's daydream when she said out loud to herself that "yes I will marry you JR" and then she turned around and realized that no one was there and the camera panned above to show how alone she actually was.

The best part about that was that there was no music, just silence and that made it so much more poignant.

    • No. When he tried to blow up half the world As for when Andrew was kidnapped, Dimitri would reveal, during his tearful plea for Andrew's love, that it was Megan who put him up to it, and that deep down, he didn't want to hurt the true love of his life

    • Hmmmm....your Chandler Massey? You mean when Dimitri tied up Andrew?
    • Per today's developing L.A. situation, I will let someone else cover it. I am not out there because of my recent physical situation (though I'd like to be) but I'm perfectly safe. Honestly I expect it'll go as poorly for the administration as it's already beginning to, and good for the people who can be out there fighting but we've been here before. Charlottesville was an atrocity that should've ended a presidency and didn't, and now Trump in like Flynn and his second term is less than six months in. My general pragmatism has curdled into something entirely more fatalistic in recent months. I have no expectation for this changing anything materially about our larger situation, I just hope a lot of people don't die. And if it shackles or trips up the administration for awhile re: its fascist policies or actions, great.

    • I remembered this as well, so I was surprised that Tomas didn't seen to know what Eva was talking about.  I would be happy for them to go their separate ways and get help for their own addictions.
    • I admit it. Peter Porte is my Chandler Massey  And, because his previous storyline was just so gross and disgusting and poorly written, I feel the character and the actor deserve some redemption.  And what better storyline would there be then for it to be revealed that Dimitri and Andrew had a fling when he was in the ISA pretending to be Kyle Graham, and that Dimitri has returned to Salem to get Andrew, the true love of his life, back. I would even tie it in to what he tried to do in Beyond Salem, which a certain fired head writer basically wanted us to forget
    • You love your Dimitri. I wonder why.
    • A Will/Sonny/Paul/Andrew/Dimitri mess, in the aftermath of John's death. And if I was writing, Leo would've been dead and forgotten about already
