AMC: New Opening?

I just ran across this tweet by Christina Lind (Bianca):

can anyone say 'opening montage.....?' I can. Take that, catchy AMC opening jingle! It's gonna be good. about 3 hours ago via web

Seems to me they are filming a new one. If true, it's about time and I can't wait to see it! If not, then ugh.

I'm SO EXCITED! I wonder if by new visuals she just meant re-formatting of the images (new widescreen book pages or something). I still HIGHLY doubt they re-shot the entire cast. But it IS possible...

Well speaking of OLTL, Erika Slezak said in her fan club newsletter last month that "I think Frank [Valentini] is doing a new opening, but I’m not sure whether he is going to replace pictures. You know what? It all costs money."

Yeah, which is why I'm skeptical that AMC is getting all-new pics.

Well it's not the original, but I agree that was the best. At the time, aside from Y&R it was hands down the classiest soap opening. (Though I was guilty of loving OLTL's soft core OP)

Yeah, which is why I'm skeptical that AMC is getting all-new pics.

And we all know that AMC is the most over budget soap right now.

Too bad the 2002 edition did. This is by far my favorite AMC opening

THANK GOD! I can't wait - hopefully they introduce maybe the beginning of 2011?

with any luck it will be promptly after oldScott reappears. Would love it if it debuted in his debut episode although I suspect it may be January isntead

Yeah, I'm thinking January only because

nuMarrisa and Damon's exit

are the last two casting changes for awhile (or that have been announced). And that happens in early January, right?

Agreed on the 2002 opening, too :)

nuMarissa debuts before nuScott so it'll either be Cosgrove's first day or after the other mentioned casting change.

It probably also depends on how many changes they're making. Obviously graphics, but if they shot all new shots, it might take a while to pick shots, format them, insert graphics, etc.
