When Y&R was off track (Fall 1994 through the first half of 1997), it seemed Bill Bell had lost interest in the Abbotts. I would have had Ashley off the canvas from BE departure in December 1995 until ED return in March 1999. 

I think with Ashley's return in March 1996, Bill Bell was planning a Victor/Nikki/Brad/Ashley quad but SS not passing the chemistry tests w/ EB and Don Diamont derailed that storyline.

my favorite is BE. she was beautiful and I really loved her version of Ashely. 

I was really fond of Brenda Epperson, too -- but I couldn't see much evidence of Ashley Abbott in the character she was playing.

- She talks about playing Kelly on Capitol (a turning point in her careeer) and how much enjoys her brand new challenge: the role of Jill Foster on YR, a vixen. She did the audition for Jill in the morning. At 4 pm she was called back and offered the role. She talks about her past as a spoiled girl (she came from a wealthy family) and how she's changed thanks to her husband, a sensitive man who is specialized in therapy for mourning processes. 

Brenda Epperson interview (1995)

- She talks about her happiness as a mom of a little girl and how is important to her being a mother and a working woman. She talks about a role in a movie directed by her husband and her love for singing. No sign of leaving YR at all.

We saw this episode during the classics, Victor reunites with Victoria and Nicholas then reveals he's alive to Jack.

Who the heck is MarkScan Enforcement? They sound like a scam. Why can other soaps have so much online but not Y&R?

Troll company. They aren't legit at all. They've taken down countless channels with fraud strikes, although now everything is being taken down without any warnings.

ED original recipe Ashley, BE Ashley, SS Ashley, ED return Ashley feel like four different characters and not the same character.

I wonder though if he started losing interest in the Abbotts earlier than that, maybe around 1987. This overlaps w/ Cricket eating the show, Ed Scott becoming EP, the big three recasts, and Traci role on the show being reduced (BM was on-and-off it seemed from 1987-1995).

What happened to make the show feel off track in those years?

@lucaslesann23 Nick and Sharon ate the show from Fall 1994 through Spring 1996, then there was a lull in the storylines from Fall 1996 through first half of 1997. Remember that this was the aftermath of OJ and Y&R's time slot rival Reilly's Days was blowing up.
