No problem guys! Now we all just need to get our hands on episodes from 1979, which was one of Y&R's best years in my opinion. I'm reading the weekly synopses from the Tubmlr page and I'd give anything to see the full year! Someone out there has to have it!

There are audio clips from some of the Katherine ghost storyline floating Around, but I always wanted to see those full episodes too...after that twitter account with all the Days episodes from 1984-present popped up, I’m wish a similar one for Y&R one emerged with every single 70s/80s episodes!! Lol

1979 was also when all the crap hit the fan with Leslie marrying Lucas to hide the fact she was pregnant by his brother Lance. Lorie finds out and goes ape. Leslie later goes bonkers and leaves Lucas and Lorie to raise her son Brooks Prentiss. Lance is in the dark the whole time about being the father (it would be 1982 when he finds out) and Vanessa plays a game of cat and mouse with Lorie threatening to reveal all.

Nikki slept with her college professor, killed her father, married Greg Foster and joined Rose Deville's modeling agency not knowing it was a front for a cat house. One of Nikki's John's dropped dead of a heart attack and the body was dumped in an

alley.

Jill trapped Stuart Brooks who loved her mother Liz into a sham marriage by faking a pregnancy.

1979 was one heck of a year for Y&R.

I'm convinced that someday they will surface! If there's one episode I'd kill to see from '79, it's the one where Kay reveals herself to Jill by crashing through the glass terrace and orders her out of her bed!! I'm listening to that audio now as we speak and it's terrifying, I can only imagine what it looks like!

    • I've always said that JFP's main problem is that she comes up with some shocking event and she plans around the event but she never thinks much about the emotional fallout for the characters or the fans. That's why so many of her stories don't work and damage her shows. I like your idea about Lando playing the person involved in hitting Maureen. It would have given Peter Simon something to do which is the feeble excuse they gave for killing Maureen off in the first place. Instead, they gave us the dreck they did.  And they were so obsessed with recreating the blackout week that they kept putting characters in fires and blizzards. None of which I saw, but going through the Logan columns I noticed: every few weeks, someone at GL would give an interview to Logan saying GL was going to get better because they had a great new storyline (A fire! A blizzard! A fire!) . Insanity.
    • @Contessa Donatella, Make sure to cite your sources when making claims such as "apparently she just inked a new deal." This information has not been reported anywhere and is therefore not known to the public, unless disclosed by the actor in question themselves. Once again, stop stating information as fact without providing a legitimate source. What you read or hear somewhere, from either message boards or on social media, does not make it true. This includes information from your "sources."

      Sorry.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieDNct2sgXU
    • I don't believe it either, @kalbir.  Ironically, I think KL's first producer, Joseph B. Wallenstein, ended up producing "Hotel" as well.
    • Yes, and by the time the 2000's rolled around Katherine was a saint and a dynamic business women. Hard to connect with the drunken lush isolated in her mansion of the 70's.
    • For once, I agree with Maurice.  AMC and OLTL had seen better days, IMO, but to assume that the audience would stick around for "The Revolution" or "The Chew" was pure hubris on the network's part.
    • It is funny to think of how the character of Philip II, and the recasting of Jill, really changed the trajectory of Kay.  One assumes she would've mellowed with time, naturally.  But, as someone who started Y&R @ 1986 (when Brad married Traci), I rarely associate Kay with her more venomous past.
    • At Santa Barbara I think she inherited a very strong structure. I also think it's the first time she exhibited the Peter Principle & was promoted just one step above her level of assured competence. If she'd stayed in Music Production I guarantee you she'd have more awards & also a stellar rep.  Oh, we totally agree then.  Betty Rea GL 1970-1996 & at 82 she died 12-23-99. Worked for the show for 26 years. Shorter time at ATWT. GL had no casting director from 1996 till 1999 when  Rob Decina came on board. (He found Tom Pelphrey at college in NJ.) he was 1999-2009, so bitter ender.  Jill GL 1989-1994, so I would guess that Betty was pretty tired & Jill just ran over her, which probably made her last years miserable because this lady was legendary! All years from imdb which CAN be wrong.
