Wow. How one episode can change everything.

I actually read a play by play spoiler of the entire episode over on Sucks, so I knew what went down, but watching it play out. Wow.

I wanted Melinda out first, but I felt horrible for her tonight. She did NOT deserve to go out like that. Cirie won me over too. I can kinda see where Aras is coming from but what a freaking moron. Shane is the epitome of train-wreck. I absolutely loathe him. Even more than Johnny Fairplay. Seriously. He's a nasty piece of work. Not even his love for his son can make me like him.

I hope Cirie screws her tribe over in a big way. You could just see Courtney and Danielle were wary about Shane and Aras yet they still go with them? A freaking ONE DAY alliance? I'm disappointed in them. I know they want a strong tribe, but UGH. A guy throws in the towel and you vote out the person who wants to stay and is fighting like hell to stay? This season will be BRUTAL. You could Probst was pissed at them and you could even see how bad everyone felt about voting out Melinda, but still ... that was a harsh way to go out.

Wow. Though. Survivor is back baby. I really loved Guatemala but Exile Island takes the cake. It's off to a great start, although I dread it becoming predictable because great pre-merge episodes usually equals a boring predictable merge. That's almost always the case.

Wow Casaya was a mess

Yeah, I absolutely hate quitters on any reality show. There are thousands, millions of people who would love to get the chance to compete on Survivor or TAR. Shane is just an annoying, whiner. Such a big mouth that doesn't stop. Why did he apply? Did he expect cigarettes on the island? I like Cirie, I loved her comments about Shane quitting. And if I am not mistaken, Shane was one of the reasons they were behind in the water, and Cirie was one of the people carrying the anchor once they arrived on the beach. <_<

And what a way for Aras to get noticed. Nice job. Do you really want a quitter in your alliance? I hope they get him out next week. Like TAR8's little Carissa Gaghan said: "Winners never quit and quitters never win!" ;)

I thought tribe combo was odd. They didn't even give the 4 tribe age thing enough time to take shape!

Exile Island is an interesting twist....I never really understood it until tonight.

I liked Melinda. :(

This seems like a good season, but Survivor is just old to me now. Yadda yadda. :(

OK I just watched my tape...

I really wish they would have kept the 4 tribes together at least one more week. Oh well. I felt bad for Melinda and Cirie...Shane is disgusting and should be voted out - quitters suck.

My boy Aras screwed up - hope he can redeem himself. Love this season so far!

Wow.

I'm stunned Misty was voted out.

I was partially spoiled for tonight's eppy and it was almost a sure thing it was supposed to be Dan. I'm thrilled it was wrong, but I'm pissed another favorite of mine is gone, LOL. I sure can pick 'em... At least Terry is impressing me. I can't believe I'm really rooting for him (I hardly ever root for that type of player. I couldn't stand Tom).

What an awesome challenge. I loved it. Seeing Danielle and Misty going at it was freaking HOT. I loved Cirie sitting on whoever she could. LMAO.

Poor Bruce :( Being exiled TWICE?

I have to say I'm glad Ruth Marie was spared but I think this could signal bad things for La Mina. It feels like Yaxha all over again. Keeping less able players and getting rid of a threat. I think it was a mistake on their part. We'll see....

Bruce annoys me...

Kinda shocked Misty was voted out, I was sure her sex appeal would take her further into the game.

LMAO at Cirie sitting on whoever it was she sat on.

SOOOOOOOOOOO glad Shane's alliance is beginning to crumble!

Shane has an incredible body for a 30 something father! Wow. But I am not sure if I like his personality.

I like Sirie. (Sp?). Cherie?

This season seems to have what the past few seasons have lacked - inter-tribe drama and dynamics.

I liked Misty. :(

    • Wasn't Taylor Miller still playing Nina during the period that Devon was on the show? She was also written out around the time Julia Barr left and Brooke was recast. I wonder if they brought her back because being the doomed non-Nina love interest to Cliff was something they didn't want to give to a woman they cared about, and they didn't want to create yet another Kennicott relation. Then having her for the Lynn Carson story also made sense because if there was intense viewer backlash, she could easily be written out.
    • I also like how they've set up all the pieces where they could do yet another "shocking Gio parentage reveal" in another year or so if they want to. Because it's not at all implausible that teenage BLQ would have sexually experimented with both Dante and Cody. So if they want another violin-smashing moment next year, just have Gio find out that Cody is his real bio-dad.
    • I agree, also am able to see various points of view. Lulu, Lois & I think the two of them are going to rival one another for the heat they are going to take.
    • When you think about it, someone who stayed on for as long as Devon must have some fans out there. She also had an alcohol issue. I saw a host of episodes with her and Cliff on YouTube. I wanna say that’s who Cliff was entertaining while Nina had the affair with Steve.  Do you believe she lasted so long because Brooke left and they kept recasting Nina?

    • Thanks again @Paul Raven  It shows you just what a unique and memorable performer Denise Alexander was that I can see her in these moments and hear her even though I've never watched any of the material. On paper it probably wasn't up to much, but I do wish I could see her playing it. Meanwhile, the Diana material continues to seem like one plate of ass after another...I was thinking she had finally been able to move on with the therapy breakthrough, but then we're right back with her believing Peter and Leslie are having an affair. I don't know how much further off the material is that made Valerie Starrett leave, but I can't blame her.  I see less and less of Jessie anywhere in this - is this when Emily's health troubles were starting to phase her out of story? Going a few summaries back, writing out Lee, Caroline, her son and his wife seems so rushed. It's a shame Marland, or whoever, killed off all of them (aside from Lee), as they might have given Lee some story down the line. Or maybe the daughter-in-law survived too - I can't remember.
    • Thanks!  I compiled the list and posted it for the 59th anniversary in November, but just made the updates now for the couple of new cast members we've had since then! Didn't realize until I did the update that Peyton is the first-ever contract actor born in Nevada, so that's another state off the 0 list!
    • What I love about this story is that I can empathize with both Lulu's point of view AND Lois's point of view. I can understand why Lulu thinks it's important for the truth to come out and why she feels a moral obligation to let Dante know he has a son. But these good intentions have gotten all mixed up with her hatred for BLQ, and so she's going about it like a self-righteous bully who hasn't thought through all the consequences of this reveal. And I can understand Lois's thought process keeping this secret. She couldn't bear to give her grandson away to strangers, and so she arranged an adoption that kept him in the family. From her perspective, it's worked out beautifully because as Gio grew up as a "Palmieri cousin", he got to know his father Dante, his mother Brook Lynn, and his grandfather Sonny. She just had the hubris to believe that she could play God and keep the secret forever.  Maybe it's just getting to see Cynthia Watros and Laura Wright in full-on catfight mode a few days ago, but the show is starting to remind me of Guiding Light in its heyday, where most of the drama comes from the interactions of long-running characters who are likeable in some ways but have enough fatal flaws that they create their own problems. That's a sharp contrast for the way GH has generally been written since the JFP era, where most of the drama comes from external threats: supervillians, Sweeps month disasters, the mob shootout of the week.
    • Wow, @JAS0N47, that list of states was impressive! And I never knew that James Read hailed from near me! (I was born and raised in a nearby city, about 15 minutes away!) (Liked him since he played Murphy Michaels on Remington Steele when I was a kid. As an older kid, I also loved him on North and South!)
    • Oh, I remember this vividly! So trippy to see Mike Brady as a devil-worshiping judge. LOL! (With the mustache and curly hair in some pics, Reed seemed to have a surface resemblance to early-Jeopardy Alex Trebek!)
