Comicon trailer. Nice Rick and Michonne stuff. Too bad it looks a lot like the show I wanted a few years ago - a few years too late. I'll catch it on Netflix eventually.

The late Scott Wilson (Herschel) and Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha) will apparently be appearing in the upcoming season I won't be watching any time soon as part of Rick's sendoff.

Steven Yeun talks his star turn in South Korean arthouse hit Burning, which as a burgeoning Korean cinema buff I am dying to see, and his dissatisfaction with his role on TWD.

Andrew Lincoln's final ep is this weekend - I am not watching these days but I expect I'll catch up someday. Folks are claiming this season is good but I just can't be bothered with the core cast falling away piece by piece.

I didn't know he almost left last season.

Well. Of all the exits planned, I did not expect

Rick to survive and be promised three TWD movies outside the series. They also apparently flash-forwarded five years to Judith in Carl's role, complete with hat and gun. Whatever!

Was it necessary to kill Carl off if this was in mind? Why not let them both get the Hope Brady Cruise of Deception exit? Still, I'm stunned and a little impressed. Won't be watching any of this for years, though.

As for the movies, they will follow what happens to Rick after his experience in Sunday's "What Comes After" episode. That saw foe-turned-friend Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh) rescue a near-death Rick and accompany him on a helicopter to an unseen new community while his friends and family believe the former sheriff is dead. Gimple confirmed Lincoln will indeed be in all three AMC movies, which he says will explore the period between Rick's helicopter rescue and the years-later time jump that was featured at the end of Sunday's episode — and stretch beyond that period. Each movie will tell a complete story about Rick. "It is about who he is and who he's going to be — and certainly how he deals with the situation he's in," Gimple says. "We know Rick Grimes, he would want to be home."

Other characters from the franchise — like Rick's romantic partner Michonne (Danai Gurira) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) — appearing in the movies (or elsewhere) is also a definite possibility. (Madden notes he has "high hopes" that Rick and Michonne's paths will cross again, despite the fact that Lincoln has filmed his last episode of the flagship series.) The first pic will be told from Rick's point of view and explore what Gimple called the "vast mythology" behind the other mysterious community looking for "A or B"-type people. "That serves the overall story to this next story we have for Rick," Gimple says.

I wish they'd just wrap the whole series up with one of these movies and a presumed reunion, but whatever, money's to be made.

Reedus and Melissa McBride just signed long-term franchise deals. But tbh I ain't watched since early Season 7, I have no idea when I'll go back and watch more for completionists' sake. I will watch the standalone movies if it's guaranteed Danai and Andrew Lincoln are back.

Chandler Riggs' dad, who has a sketchy rep as a bit of a stage dad, is making more claims about Riggs' exit.

I take anything from the dad with a big grain of salt given some of the stories about him, and given that to my knowledge Chandler has never commented on it and seems very content focusing on his electronic music atm. That said, it was a horrible mistake killing him off.

I was completely fine with Carl's death. Carl was one of the most annoying characters from the jump and Chandler never grew as an actor.

Michael Rooker has a voice cameo as a key character in the penultimate episode of this season's True Detective.
