Episode 3:    Dee

Welp, Alpha never dressed well from the beginning.  Seeing her torturing Lydia reminded me why she truly deserved Negan.

Episode 4 :   Amy, Dr. Everett

I really enjoyed perky Amy and felt bad she got stuck with grumpy Dr. E.  Anthony Edwards was perfectly cast for the role. Poor Amy not making it sucked.

Episode 5 : Davon

Allegory. Sad that it was the batshit crazy son killing children, but fits in (see 'look at the bunnies'). Davon trying to get the people to change, which never works post-apocalypse.

Since I know they were the only reason both @DRW50and I kept watching for awhile, this is newsworthy:

Apparently Danai Gurira co-wrote their spinoff miniseries, which I will be watching. I don't know if/when I'll watch the actual final seasons of TWD though. It seems very odd that the actual ending of the main show appears to largely just be a springboard for the multiple spinoff shows - I think they are remiss to not show these two main characters at least reuniting with the rest of the longtime ensemble (and their two young children) before going off on a new adventure, unless that reunion is going to happen in the spinoff. If the show ends up in syndication somehow new people are going to be wildly confused.

Apparently Carol is left caring for the Grimes kids and helping to run whatever the current settlement is. I'm glad she's happy. I do hope she eventually got back together with Ezekiel. They were neat together around when I stopped watching. But I still think killing off Carl was an unforgivable mistake.

Thanks @Vee . My days of watching anything with the show are pretty done (I just lost interest, rather than any outrage), but I am going to wait and see how the spinoff ends. Either way I hope they will give a positive ending, if possible, for Rick and Michonne.

I thought Carl had improved a lot in recent years, and he was a foundational part of the show who was always intended by the creators to go on. I thought it stripped a key piece of the core out of the show. I also had zero interest in Negan's 'redemption.'

    • I do actually. Nicole seems like the forgiving type; plus she is a Psychiatrist.  Absolutely agree.
    • Dana has proven to be beyond unhinged from day one.
    • I'm just guessing, but Eva has to be Nicole's daughter. I don't see Nicole forgiving Eva for her betrayal. Unless she winds up being her daughter.
    • I did not recall how contentious the interview turned out to be until I re-read it.  In retrospect, good on both of them for allowing it to be published, it is remarkable to read this type of honesty in a soap magazine. http://www.anotherworldhomepage.com/chat85.html
    • Today's show was boring, which means it will score high in the ratings.

    • Correct. And she left Eva alone and vulnerable just like she was 20 plus years ago.
    • Leslie feels betrayed by Eva for choosing Ted and Nicole, with her actions at the party calling her crazy and trying to stop Leslie from exposing Ted.
    • I kinda think that's the point, Leslie isn't logical; she is very unhinged. She's probably mad at Eva turning on her in front of the Duprees. They need each other but I do want to see Eva form a family unit away from Leslie.
    • IDA. I felt this was his best episode and the actor sold it for me especially bc Martin has been so stoic and not very expressive with his emotions. The actor's weakness actually became a strength here bc I felt he really came alive and I bought his rage towards Leslie and later and later vulnerability he exposed to Smitty. He's growing and while I had reservations at first, I think they should keep him. He's done well with this reveal
    • The soapy convention that amused me today was the amount of stuff that soap characters get done on their way to work. I drink a glass of iced coffee, take a handful of pills, read @AbcNbc247 morning summary, and I am out the door.  Marlena got on a full beat of makeup, and her Monday blazer.  Then she visited with Johnny at the Salem Inn, EJ at the mansion, and checked in with Cat, all before reading her emails.  It is just remarkable how much people can do when they never have to go to the bathroom! Marlena's vibe with Cat was weird, considering she hired Cat as an assistant.  She seemed a little suss today. Meanwhile, with all of these new interactions, I want a scene between Chad and Marlena when they discuss blazers.  I think Chad's more unconstructed, knit jackets would suit Marlena (no pun intended).
