@JAS0N47 see the post directly above yours on this page.
It was Gus Pascal.

Update, I looked at @Mona Kane Croft's original question.  ... Mona referred to Maggie in the sarcophagus.  And what was Vivian's name for his job title

I checked to when Maggie in the sarcophagus happened; and it was autumn 2010.

Then I looked at Jason47's episode cast lists for 2010, to see when Gus aired in autumn 2010.
https://jason47.com/days/daybyday2010.html

Then I checked those episodes against the transcripts for autumn 2010 and found it!

Transcript from Monday Sept. 13, 2010 Canada or Tuesday Sept. 14, 2010 USA
https://tvmegasite.net/transcripts/days/older/2010/trans-da-09-13-10.shtml

Gus: Madame, my name is Gus. I am--was Vivian Alamain's amanuensis.

Maggie: So that's what you call it.

Great job, Jane! Would have never thought of that word!!

Thank you so much!  I'm pretty sure this was the term I was thinking of, but now I can't even remember how Vivian pronounced it.  LOL. I'm going to look up the word to see what the heck it actually means.

Thanks to everybody who helped with this little treasure hunt!!  Much appreciated.

Yep, that's it!!   Thanks for the help on pronunciation.  We have some very nice and helpful people on this message board. It's great to be reminded of that occasionally.

By the way Contessa, how did you find the clip you posted above?  Is it audio only?  Is the entire episode available to view??

Thanks again .

It's in my files, the whole episode. To get this I did a quick edit. Both Audio & Video. If you want it, just PM me. Choose betw the whole episode or Viv/Brady edit. My DAYS files, continuous, begin with 1984. That's true in general for collectors of digital files of DAYS. I have years before but here & there, not continuous.

Happened to stumble on this story with Jackie Cooper in 1971. For those that don't know, he was the actor-turned-Screen Gems exec who helped sell the Days pilot to NBC in 1965. In the story below, he talked about his time at Screen Gems and says that 22 of the 41 pilots he made while there made it on the air, so that's a pretty good track record!

From our Easter Egg hunt today, I did an edit of Vivian & Brady in & around the sarcophagus that is all set up for Maggie & she is on a phone call near the end of the 9 minute edit. Anyone who wishes to see it: my usual video hosting site; acct: shallotpeel; video title

DAYS 9-14-2010 Brady & Vivian ft. Maggie

Thanks guys.

At around 55 minutes you have a Peggy McCay ad for A1. She is using a French accent. Very amusing.

That makes me laugh. If anyone knew that it was Peggy. Reminds me of the story she told about making Lad, a Dog, and how they had cheap cars while the dog arrived in a limo.

Just as an FYI/FWIW I added some DAYS to my Reels in my Instagram acct. 5 were current & the rest were much older. Sony immediately challenged 4 of those 5 which I promptly deleted. They didn't challenge Gwen/Theresa stunt at the airport. They did challenge Bill Hayes last day, Drake last day, Drake last day with Deidre & Dick Van Dyke "I'm Your Son!". They didn't challenge any of the older clips. So far, anyway. And, no one challenged AW, AMC, ATWT, etc.

Two questions for the group

  1. How did Peter develop “jungle madness”?
  2. Did he still have it when he went to prison?

I know he was released by 2019, when they last mentioned him on screen.  But, do we think that they'll reference this very passé/soapy term if he ever returns?

1. Peter was bitten by a bug.  I think a mosquito and developed jungle madness on the Hope, John, et al Jungle trip.

2. Stefano found a cure for Jungle Madness before Peter turned himself in.

Peter has been referenced several times since 2019 and multiple times this year.  It seems like he's fine? I doubt the show would ever reference Jungle Madness now that Ron has been fired if Peter ever came back.

I don't know if those goes against any non-compete thingys with other chat boards, so if this has to be removed, please remove, but I wanted to let Days fans know that the very-long-time Salem Spectator "Days" website, which was offline recently, is now back as of today. So, if you want to join and post there: https://salemspectator.freeforums.net/

I think 'unrecognizable' is a bit of headline hyperbole.  Amazing would be more apropos.
