Members Joseph
I wonder how Astrid would look in that role, per IMDB she seemed to be specialized in playing teenagers despite being past 30, so in late 1967 she would be about 33 playing a 16 or so year old!
Members JAS0N47
She was born Feb. 1943, so she would have been 24 when she played Sandy.
Members Joseph
Really? Weird the one I saw listed her as being born in 1934, I better check again
Members Bright Eyes
Going down a bit of a rabbit hole googling Brian Lane Green (ex-Alan Brand). Does anyone remember him being a good actor? He's a Tony nominee, who lost to Jason Alexander, and was also on AW and AMC. Seeing pictures of him, he was quite good looking, could obvously sing, and he came out as gay in 2003. I think it was said by Sheri Anderson or someone that the DAYS PTB had planned to have a gay supercouple in the 80s, and people speculated he was going to be one half of the couple, but of course, the network axed that idea from coming to fruition. Just one of those curious untapped potential type things.

Members Paul Raven
Or did it just mean those 4 actors would not be appearing on the Monday episode? Not sure how they would indicate on the previous weeks list who would be needed for a Friday rehearsal for the Monday show. Again @JAS0N47 thanks for continuing to share.
Members JAS0N47
All this talk above of 1189 just made me realize this is the debut of the Sergio's set, which would become Doug's Place in 1972. So, Bill Hayes was preparing his lines exactly 54 years ago tonight and would walk on to the soon-to-be Doug's Place set (with a piano player) for the first time ever on July 9, 1970. 1189...7/23/70: Cast: Tom, Susan, Julie, Doug, Sergio/Cafe Owner, Piano Player, Waiter. Sets: Doug’s Apartment, Julie’s Apartment, Hall Outside Julie’s Apartment, Intimate “European Type” Café (Sergio’s). Members JAS0N47
It looks liked I accidentally erased my answer to you when I was updating about 1189. But, no, the X's are for who is taping the episode. And the /'s are for who is rehearsing the next-day's episode. 1190,. the Monday episode, had Tom, Alice, Bill and Laura. None (other than Tom who was taping 1189 on Friday) is listed to be at work that day, which means they didn't rehearse Monday episode on Friday afternoons. Which means that got the crew out early on Fridays to enjoy a few extra hours of the weekend. Best guess is they did maybe a quick rehearsal of Monday's episodes on Monday mornings. Members Paul Raven
@JAS0N47 I get it now. Sorry for the confusion. Re Days and contracts. Was it standard practice for every new contract role to be recurring at first or were there exceptions? Was it a standard period before an actor went on contract or differ for each? When did that practice finish? I guess Days did this so if an actor didn't work out Days wasn't stuck with them onscreen for 13 weeks. or have to pay them for that time if they were replaced sooner. Did it work that way? Were there any recurring roles that did not go contract with the original actor? On the actor side, actors could leave if they weren't happy for any reason, but also weren't guaranteed a regular gig unless they were accepted by TPTB. And Days faced the possibility of losing someone they liked in that recurring phase. Did any other soap use that recurring/contract system? Members JAS0N47
CNN just contacted me. They are working on a Tina Andrews story and wanted help in getting some clips of her as Valerie. So, I figured out some episode #s for them to request from the show. I know we have that really poor quality video of their first kiss, but hopefully we will now get to see a pristine quality version of it. I also sent them the episode #s of Tina's debut, David's proposal, and an episode where David and Valerie get kicked out of a restaurant.

Members asafi
wow I'm sure the production kept all those vintage episodes from the 70's including David and val's affair.. sounds interesting and ground breaking. hopefully we'll get to see those episodes.
Members Contessa Donatella
David & Valerie have a very nice scene, with a kiss, in Doug & Julie's first wedding, 10-1-1976.
