No, Cabot was alive. James, of course, saved him before the cabin blew up. James kidnapped Rosanna to some Hong Kong whorehouse where Craig found her. Somehow they escaped and Rosanna arranged to hide Cabot through a "blind" adoption of sorts. However, I don't think they ever told anyone (including his father Jordan) what they'd done---to protect Cabot from James---other than Paul.
