I think the short hair was good because it set her apart (minus Emily and Molly), as she was an anti-establishment character in the beginning.

What do you guys think about her baby daddy hopping storyline in the late 90s?  Was it was excessive to have her go between so many men like Jack, Hal, John and Brad? How exactly did it work out that John inseminated Carly with his sperm? Did he not tell Carly that he was using his own sample?

It's probably the best example of the damage that can be done by the hiring/firing carousel. I think there were three different sets of writers helming that story, and none of them paid attention to what the other wrote.

And for being a thrice-married woman (in about fourteen months) she was practically a nun. Her marriage to Hal collapsed in months, she didn't sleep with John (thank God...) and she slept with Brad TWICE.

Agreed! And he had chemistry with everyone. I can understand why people enjoyed Scott Bryce - having see so much of the 80s/90s, I like him as well -  but one thing that can be said about him: he was in no way smokin'.

While I feel Hunt Block was very sexy in his "Knots" days, I'm apparently in the minority in preferring Bryce over Hunt.  Bryce -- while not sexy/hot in the traditional sense -- had a confidence and swagger that was VERY sexy and far-outshined the wooden Block.  (lol ..."wooden" Block.)  Sex with Bryce/Craig was probably way more better.

maybe in the thread, but Block was a controversial recast. I never accepted him in the role. And I didn't find him appealing in any sense of the word. Or empathetic. Even in the scenes around Bryant's death, I felt nothing for him.

    • I suspected that the performance with the reveal was the reason why the Ted actor got the axe and it looks like I was right. He wasn't really good at conveying what needed to be conveyed in those scenes. Claybon is at least slowly improving (but I agree that he still needs to work on his line delivery), but I do wonder what will happen when his big reveal is coming up.
    • I've already asked this before, recently, but can anyone who watched those years more closely tell me if anything said about Jessie and Simon at the end of their profiles is accurate (about them marrying, naming a baby after Brandon/Lujack, etc.)?
    • Nicole is way too smart to not know she was carrying twins - she's a doctor! My guess is that Leslie did abort her baby out of fear, and as payback, stole Ted and Nicole's child (Eva), and stole Kat from another family to replace her in the hospital.
    • Those Soap Central profiles have a lot of incorrect info. According to SOD summaries and the Daytime Newsletter of the time,Tim left town for a new job and Pam reunited with the father of her baby and also departed Springfield. They did not marry.
    • Do we believe that Jabot is at the level of Estee Lauder?? I am on board with Jabot deciding to expand but the way it was handled was ridiculous. Jabot just decided and bingo, that was that. Not months of negotiations and decisions about how it would fit into the Jabot portfolio. And then no follow through. Josh thinks he's serving business stories by characters sitting around and discussing mergers, takeovers and job switching. Now we have Audra setting up her own company -Vibrator or something. Well, why not? You don't need staff, office space or even products.
    • He a dirty dog! Those are his kids and he hurt everyone. At this point he needed to just come clean. I can't believe I was lusting over this man! I hope they aren't quick to forgive.
    • The way I took it is that he did not want to confirm or deny anything until he talked to Nicole first. He was very calculated with the wording he used with Martin and Kat
    • I still see Alfonso Ribeiro as Carlton when Martin gets angry.
    • Not that I want to defend Y&R's writers, but it's not as absurd as you'd think and I believe they plucked it from reality (and then bungled it). The Estee Lauder Companies purchased Tom Ford's brand several years ago and I am willing to bet that's how Jabot came to buy Marchetti.
    • Loved the episode today. looking forward to the fallout. Nubian-Sheila looked fantastic, but I wish the writers would cut back on her overuse of figurative language. I loved the "fix yo mind ministries" line though. The background music during her fantasy confrontation with Nicole was epic.
