MTV: Lauren Conrad Show

Ugh... dry.gif

<span style="font-size:120%;">Former "Hills" star Lauren Conrad is set to return to the network that made her famous for a new reality project, The Hollywood Reporter confirms exclusively.

Conrad, 24, will be the focus of a documentary-style reality series for MTV following the budding fashion designer as she creates a line of evening wear and builds a fashion house -- from the ground up.

"I'm so excited to take on this new project that really focuses on my true passion," Conrad tells THR. "I'm happy to be partnering with MTV because I have had such an amazing relationship with them and love being a part of the network."

Berman Braun will be producing the new reality series.

"We are thrilled to be in business with a terrific young entrepreneur like Lauren," Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun of Berman Braun say in a statement to THR. "It will be a lot of fun to be exploring her new work adventure with her."

"We are so excited to be working with Lauren again," Tony DiSanto, president of programming at MTV, tells THR. "She is family we are very proud of her. When we shot the test tape for Laguna Beach she was 17 now she's a mogul."

With the third installment of her teen novel series due out next month, the N.Y. Times best-selling author has already established herself in the fashion world with the Lauren Conrad collection that debuted at L.A. Fashion Week in March 2008 and launched line of casual wear with Kohl's department stores in 2009.

I thought she was done with reality tv?

She claimed to be.

She's so boring....

Yup...

I also hate how the article says shes a mogul, and tries to imply it was via her hardwork and not a reality show, a team behind her, and a ghostwriter.

But, ultimately and as much as it pains me to say — didn't Kristin flop on The Hills?

The show was already dead by the time she came on. She did spark some life into it when she first came on, but really it was on its last legs. Cant really say she was a flop bc she was probably the best thing about it towards th end. Heidi and Audrina's dramas were both overplayed and a bore.

I think you've perfectly described how I feel, actually. :)

How long will it take before Kristin steals that show from her too?

Ha

No, you cant flip a dead show.

Plus, Kristin didn't steal it. Lauren basically handed it over. Lauren Conrad love, forever! ^_^

Actually, LC was pissy when she found out KCav was taking over. As was Audrina, both thought it would be Audrina taking the lead.

I think that means MTV is done with The Hills group. The Us In Touch Weekly People OK magazines also seem to be done with them.

The only MTV shows anyone watches now involve viewers laughing at idiots punching each other in the face and being bad parents.

Most certainly. But I have to laugh at how this basically said: Our viewers are so duuuummmmbbbbb!

That is the basic pitch from MTV. Jersey Shore was marketed on how fun it is to see men punch women out. Teen Mom is marketed on the entertainment value of bad mothers. Skins was all about faux-controversy and hysteria (which thankfully viewers saw through very quickly).
