Members Soapsuds
Dr. Oz is in a different time period here. It is a very good show but I still prefer The Doctors over it.
Members bellcurve
I won't be. It's the nature of the beast. I used to be sad about soap cancellations, but when soaps constantly sabotage themselves, it's hard to be pissy about their cancellation. I'm more upset with a change of regime/favorite actors leaving/etc. I still love soap operas, but it's hard to do that when soap operas don't love themselves. And it would be different if soaps were the only thing I watched on daytime television. I love game shows, talk shows, and a few court shows. There's more to TV and daytime TV than just soap operas. Members bellcurve
Damn, what a f*cking downgrade. I would be pissed as hell. Did Dr. Oz move somewhere else? Check your local listings to see.
Members dragonflies
I think we're already heading to that point. There's only so many talk shows and game shows people can watch and even game shows aren't getting ratings like they used too, same for talk shows. Members Soaplovers
I'm noticing that NBC's daytime schedule (at least in the chi-town area) is very diverse. At eleven till noon is Access Hollywood, Noon till one are reruns of Real Housewives, one to two is Days, and from two to three is Nate Berkus (I preferred Bonnie Hunt). If the real housewife reruns take off, I'd expect to see more rerun/reality show fare in the daytime hours.
Members All My Shadows
See, I like this, and I hope it does well for DAYS. Three or four soaps back-to-back isn't going to work anymore, but I wonder if a variety-style daytime lineup would work. A talk show, a soap, a game show, some kind of reality or court show, a lifestyle program. Soaps don't have to die completely.
Members alphanguy74
I agree, A litle something for everyone is always a good thing, in my book. CBS certainly never does that, they are so fat right now on proecdurals in primetime, it's like a repeat of 1965-1970 when they had rural comedy after rural comedy. I really hope Nate nmakes it... he's cute, sweet.. and we haven't had a fag hosting a daytime talk show since Merv left the air!
Members EastMA2
I didn't watch this show called Steven and Chris but I saw a promo for it and it's 2 gay guys trying to be Martha Stewart. It got a .1 rating/0 share nationally on it's first day. Really, a ZERO share. This is what our soaps are being replaced with.
