Whew! Dodged that bullet.

Why, exactly, does Caleb need dirt on David? The only thing I remember is that Matronly Bianca implicated David in the plane crash that decimated Caleb's cabin -- but that was weeks ago. I've skipped several episodes this past month. Has David done anything else to him? I'm asking from a storytelling standpoint. David's been involved Rylee, Caleb's been involved with Cortlandt Electronics v. Chandler Enterprises... and all of a sudden Caleb wants dirt on David?

At the end of the day, they should be allies. Even back in 1998 with Marcy Walker's Liza, David always found her intriguing. Even during the first storyline that facilitated David's exit in February of 1998, where Liza, Jake and Allie Banga got the best of him, he was impressed with her. They teased more David and Liza when he returned in July of that year, but then, McTavish shifted focus to TKFP's rape. But it would definitely be interesting to see the two of them with their heads together.

Amen!

Yup.

Don't know, don't care. Not that I hate him, but Zach just sucks anything fun about Kendall. I like thier family but not the control he has over her, remember Kendall before Zach? God I loved her. Zendall was her saving SL but then it became about Zach and his casino and Ryan/Zach and Ryan/Zach/Aidan and Ryan/Zach/Aidan/Greenlee and Ryan/Zach/Aidan/Greenlee/Annie. Everyday!!! Families like the Cortlandts and Martins and Montgomery's and Kanes took a back seat to that nonsense.

I like both Zach and Kendall individually. Its together that they become toxic. Ive liked seeing Zach on my screen but I cant handle him in Kendall's sphere. Seeing him with Liza reminded me of the chemistry they had and how much I enjoyed them.

Agreed.

Kendall is better w/o Zach and he's more fun when he's not with her. I've never loved Zendall together and they've never fit. They were cute when she was pregnant with Ian, but that was it I never really saw much chemistry even then. Kendall only had the best chemistry with Ryan and Aidan, JMO. Anyway, when Zach got with Liza I actually saw such a fun side to him that he's never had until then. Now he just looks miserable with Kendall while she's happy because they just don't want the same things and it's not the first either. It's time for them both to just move on and go their separate ways so they both finally be happy.

TK looks like the time off's been good to him. The haircut took some years off his face, he looks rested, fresher. Having said that, I could care less about Zach or Kendall really, unless Kendall gets a great sister-bonding s/l with Bianca and their mother. I'd like to see them involved in something intriguing and not at all romantic. From my lips to deaf ears.

ETA: Where are we on the whole "you took it upon yourself to borrow my husband's sperm for insemination" thing?

    • Six minutes into watching today's episode, and there's Joey...... Ugh!!
    • We have to deal with more Tide and Febreeze - that’s really what’s paying the bills for the show, so it’s a necessary evil.
    • It is interesting that Ann lasts as long as she does as a character on the show. I assume the show chose not to renew her contract, but I don't know for certain. I also believe Millette Alexander's contract wasn't renewed after she last appeared at Christmas in 1982. Looking back, I really wish that they had ended up pairing Sara and Mike Bauer versus Sara and Adam. Sara and Mike were already good friends, and it would have been an interesting twist in 1978 if Sara and Mike had a fling after Dean Blackwell's death, Sara turning to Mike for comfort after Dean's death. Mike and Sara certainly could have been a tentpole couple moving forward, unlike Mike and Elizabeth.
    • I wish they’d inject some of Colby’s real life energy, and yes, fashion sense, into Kat.
    • Like I've said before, I think the show is often a very strange (and admittedly fascinating to me) mix of very old-fashioned, purple dialogue and classic soap opera structural elements - right down to the insanely blatant, virally successful product placement for P&G - mixed with other dialogue or material that tries desperately to be current and hip. One moment it will remind me of very hokey old B&B stuff or expository stuff out of the '60s, and the other it'll look and sound like the Prospect Park soaps. Some of the hipper dialogue or material (Chelsea's sexuality, etc.) works for me, others are pure cringe. Same with the classical stuff, like the characters (particularly the elders) gathering around to recap plot, make grand pronouncements about each other or their children/family, or make grave portents of the future. Then there's the whole piano thing lol. It's a weird mix, but not one I'm mad about atm so much as mystified by. As a longtime soap fan it is very compelling to examine even when parts of it really don't work, because so much of BTG feels both very old and very new at the same time. I do think they need to dump the Bell (or maybe more accurately Brad Bell) school of dialogue MVJ has been working from for years, and bring in more of the naturalistic GH house style she and Guza worked from in the '90s and 2000s. If that means dumping a lot of the dialogue people so be it (I do think some are good). OTOH the Bell style seems to work for a lot of the social media and probably offline audience that isn't me, so who's to say. I don't think Dani is at all in the latter-day Carly though. She's not on quite as much, and she's far from always right. I do think they are definitely playing it down the middle with the Duprees while waiting to reveal more, but I do think they want you to see them both ways or divide the audience on who they are. Which seems to have succeeded because some people are baffled.
    • Might this show be a black stereotype? Angry crazy acting women like Dani and Leslie. Cheating punk men like Bill and Ted who didn't keep it in their pants. Angry black men like Martin. Promiscuous black man wanting the white girl. Dirty black cops. And so on?

    • That would require Dani to think about someone/something other than herself.. and we all know Dani only thinks about Dani.  Including her butting into Nicole's business instead of just being a supportive sister.
