And yes Alex Donnelly has been screwed twice this year with mediocre Susan Walters coming back as Diane instead. It's amazing that this casting has nothing to do with "Bell's legacy" as MAB would say.

So why did they bring back Susan Walters only a few months ago?

I really like Maura but I'm not going to be happy about this after seeing the material given to Eden Reigel and Stephen Nichols, who, if you watched this show only, you would think could not get hired as an extra on Saved by the Bell the New Class.

I hope it works out for her, as I have a lot of respect for her as an actress, but for me the only Diane was Alex Donnelly. Why could they not bring in a new character?

I can see her having some nice chemistry with Peter Bergman. I think they could actually sell this. However, I think it will all hinge on the writing.
