A last minute replacement for Jennifer on GH in that terrible story in 2015?? Wow. @DRW50 should hear that one.

Mm-hmm. Gagnier confirmed she was called by Mark Teschner if she was available the next day and then was filming the next day. So, I am pretty sure a rewrite was unavoidable.

Thanks @Liberty City and @Vee . I have to admit that I think Sherilyn would have been good casting as a broken Jennifer (and poor Jennifer was always broken)...but that writing was unplayable.

I think, in terms of appeal, Fenn would have been a more viable follow-up to Roseanne and Sally Struthers in terms of campiness.

Holly Gagnier always seemed like a very random choice to bring in to play that part as a suddenly svelte, restrained Jennifer Smith who seemed much more mundane post-Roseanne/Struthers. I figured that was a creative choice by FV/RC preferring the original take on the character from 1980, and always assumed at the time HG and FV knew each other going way back to the Paul Rauch days at OLTL and he was doing her a favor. But clearly she was doing him one as Fenn backed out and Gagnier has apparently become a very in-demand acting coach/agent/whatever, including for several GH stars.

Sherilyn would've been a much better eccentric choice, again with some primetime stature like the last two actors in the role. But DRW is right that the writing for Jennifer was pretty lousy in those couple days.

Kassie DePaiva Reflects on 'One Life to Live's Cancellation & Todd and Blair’s Ending (Exclusive)

Kassie mentions that she auditioned for Amanda on Another World in 1993.

Worked out for Kassie, but this could have been amazing if Sloan/Culliton wrote to her strengths. The pairing with Grant and rivalry with Vicky would have been a lot of fun. Not to mention the sibling relationships with Iris, Paulina & Matt. Maybe the Evan story could have worked too.

Of course, the show went in the exact opposite direction and Amanda just became Kelsey 2.

Denise Pence recently said she auditioned to play Jackie Scott on Guiding Light. Cindy Pickett got the part, but Katie was then created for Denise.

Peter Porte revealed on The Locher Room that he auditioned for EJ Dimera.

And for Leo 😂😂😂

He might not have been a bad Leo.

Leo definitely wouldn't be as grating and insufferable if Peter had played him 😂😂

Wrong for both roles.

I guess she really wasn't getting any work post SBTB to audition for GH.

To think if she'd had the part she wouldn't have done Showgirls...
