May 27, 201015 yr Member Let's see if OLTL's musical paid off or not. I'm not sure it did. However, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday's shows were pretty good with the end of Teen Jess, the end of Markko/Langston/Ford, and the end of Marty/John/Natalie. All those stories came to pretty satisfying conclusions. That's why I'm hoping ratings went up.
May 27, 201015 yr Member Let's see if OLTL's musical paid off or not. I'll bet the musical sunk OLTL; ATWT did something similiar with the Lisa 50th thing but all the old folks might have tuned in for what turned out to be a painful mess. Wow...GL was beating Days back in 93? By then, many staions had already moved the show into an AM slot. In that year, what was NBC doing after AW? Was Santa Barbbara still on?

Santa Barbara went off the air in January 1993. It would have been listed in the ratings if it had still been on that week

May 27, 201015 yr Member OLTL is the only ABC soap to go up in W18-49, going up 11,000 viewers!!!!!!!!! GH deserves to keep going down. Its been boring. Too much Michael. Good to see DAYS rise in W18-49 demo. Edited May 27, 201015 yr by OLTL_fan
May 27, 201015 yr Member Theres an error in the press release. Says NBC averaged 696,000 viewers in W18-49 but the Top 5 shows DAYS at 710,000. Im just guessing the 710,000 is right because that sounds more like a 1.1 rating. Probably CBS averaged 696,000 viewers in the W18-49 demo. Damn thats low. How much lower did ATWT go?

Yeah, I saw that, and figured the same thing....the CBS and NBC averages were likely switched by mistake.
May 27, 201015 yr Member I'll bet the musical sunk OLTL; ATWT did something similiar with the Lisa 50th thing but all the old folks might have tuned in for what turned out to be a painful mess. Wow...GL was beating Days back in 93? By then, many staions had already moved the show into an AM slot. In that year, what was NBC doing after AW? Was Santa Barbbara still on? Santa Barbara was cancelled in 93. After AW, NBC premired Sunset Beach. However, lower ratings is the case all around. For example, Survivor's finale in 2000 drew over 50 million viewers. This last edition which easliy won Thursday nights and its timeslot every week, drew about 14 million viewers. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Survivor_(U.S._TV_series) People have too many alternatives to television to watch anything, especially live, for it to registere on Nielsens.
