April 6, 201016 yr Member It's not that it particularly offends me--if I saw the same jokes here I'd laugh, but I hate that Nelson in his "column" puts comments like: "Tuesday: One Life’s Oliver and Kyle bring Sierra Rose, a.k.a. Cher, home. “Shoot — we forgot to buy a nursery,” realizes Kyle. “Just put her in your sling for now,” resolves Oliver." (And why the Hell would a young gay couple name their daughter Cher, it's like his jokes all come from 1970s gay bar).
April 9, 201016 yr Member “I treat my career like school. The soap opera days were like high school. I got my diploma and graduated. Now I’m in college, and hopefully I’ll go to grad school (feature films) and catch the bus with Denzel Washington, Jamie Foxx, Will Smith and the others.” —Former Y&R stud muffin Shemar Moore in an interview with Mercurynews.com This is the 2nd interview I have read with Shemar Moore where he disses his time on Y&R. There was a SOW interview in 2007 where he said something along the lines of "being on Criminal Minds gives me credibility as an actor and I'm no longer known as the guy from the soap opera that takes their shirt off all the time". Shemar seems to forget that if it weren't for taking his shirt off on Y&R he wouldn't have a career. He couldn't act worth crap when he first started on Y&R and so that's why the writers had him take his shirt off every week. To give credit, Shemar improved as an actor in the nearly 10 years he was on Y&R, but he really shouldn't be dissing his time on Y&R.

I understand what your saying and I don't disagree I think Shemar comments represents what he felt were his limitations on Y&R more than anything. But I agree that comment takes away fromany appreciationt hat should be shown

April 13, 201015 yr Member Forget Nellie, your thoughts on Shemar. Shemar = He doesn't have the GRE score to get into "grad school." Maybe at some rinky dink school(i.e. low-grossing Tyler Perry films and straight-to-DVD flicks), but he'll never get to Denzel or Will Smith's level.

He just slapped every signle Y&R viewer, but especially many African-Americans who loved him and supported him in spite of his rather visible acting "shortcomings". He should've refrained.
