I'm gaining the utmost respect for Brett with each and every interview. He doesn't slag off the net or TPTB, but he makes it clear that he and Scott leave the show with their dignity in tact and in full knowledge of the fact that it wasn't the fault of their characters that show's ratings are in the cellar.

This Kish controversy, is really going to hurt the show more than they realize. Do they really believe their problems are going to just disappear. Not only have they lost a popular pairing, that brought them great publicity, but they also are alienating a fanbase with the way they are handling this exit.

Right now this was the last thing OLTL needed to do, they seriously want to be cancelled....and as far as I am concerned, they only have themselves to blame if they do.

This show NEVER seems to learn from their mistakes...........

Another great interview by Brett. I just love this guy. Another soap needs to snap him up.

I agree with poster Mrs. Chandler Quartermaine. Getting rid of Kish acomplishes nothing postive for this show. All they did was piss off fans and it's not going to help the ratings. Can already see it. The last few weeks the ratings have down and quickly approaching that low in total viewers they hit in Dec. Given Kish has hardly been on lately, to me thats basically backs up my opinion that they let the wrong people go and the real problems still remain and will continue to drag down the show. It looks like not just Kish fans, but the general auidence is tuning out cause the most of the rest of the show is such crap. I think Jamey Giddens could be right, in that this could be the show's "Maureen Bauer moment".

I really liked Kyle and Fish but I don't get the Maureen Bauer comparison. Maureen was on GL for over a decade and she slowly became the show's heart and soul. The show was never the same without her, but still went on for another sixteen years. Kyle and Fish were great once OLTL started writing for them and they could have become the show's heart but they were never given the best of stories and probably would have been ruined at one point or another as just about everyone on OLTL is. Even if they had stayed around, the show probably won't last beyond another two or so years.

If we're going to talk about moments that linger for years and years I'd put stuff like poor Gabrielle killed next to a toilet.

I respect your opinion, but the show will be cancelled with or without Kish.

Sure, the couple was groundbreaking, but it was just two newbies with no connection to the core of the show. I highly doubt OLTL will just implode without them.

Kish fans should be lucky they aren't sticking around, they could have had a worse fate then what they are getting now.

Eric83....I completely agree about "the show will be cancelled with or without Kish", I'm was trying to say that this is another reason, in a very very long line of reasons, why they might be cancelled soon. In a sense, Kish's firing is just adding more fuel to the fire.

I love OLTL, they gave me my favorite soap couple of all time...Tangeline...but I think even they don't know what to do anymore, they seem lost.

    • Yes, I like him too. He is a good actor, and I agree with your comments about his personality. I also want to add, I think that he comes across as realistic and IMO sane. Yeah, he's done some bad things, but he seems pretty in control for the most part and not the least bit crazy. I appreciate that type of behavior in someone who can behave like a villain. And I continue to buy that he really does love his daughters. Unlike Leslie who seems to only use and mistreat Eva, I have seen Bill soften when it comes to his daughters. And I do believe he would do what he felt he had to do to protect them. I enjoyed his scenes with Dani today. I enjoyed the show today. I thought that the scenes with Nicole being comforted by both her parents including them switching out for sweet and cute. I particularly enjoyed her scenes with Vernon. I love her relationship with her parents. I also liked Tomas/Eva scenes. He genuinely seems to care about her, and I am interested in seeing how things will play out between them and him and Kat.
    • Dani really got on my nerves. Her own life is a total disaster, yet she interferes with everyone else's. What could she possibly say to Ted that will change anything? That will help anyone? And as you said, while she bashes Bill, she wants him back -- all the while knowing who he is and who he's been for years. None of these scenes are pushing me to appreciate Dani. -- OTOH, Bill got some very good shots in at Dani. He won that face-off. -- June is just a ball of cliches and stereotypes to this point. I hope this goes somewhere. -- Martin flies off the handle much too easily, but I did appreciate that he grew calm and subdued, and even sad, with Ted. -- I'm glad Tomas is pretty, because damn, that acting. -- I'm glad Derek looks so good in tight jeans, because damn, that acting. -- LMAO at Leslie gaining entrance to Nicole's house because Nicole wanted the front door ajar so Door Dash could leave her takeout.

    • No, we would really do it.  Those pix were so famous! In early May 1970 Susan introduced Doug Williams to Julie. Her intent was evil. But, it backfired on her. Doug & Julie fell in love. Everyone knows the rest of this story.
    • Doesn't matter if its off topic. No need to point it out. Things will get back on topic soon enough. They always do . . . And I do love the off topic photos from the Bill Bell era!  So thanks.

Thank you. I didn't realize there was confusion. You cleared it up.  It is more than crazy that this whole conversation is off-topic.
    • Sure!  And we promise, Mr Corday -- we will ridicule those wonderful old episodes daily on social media.   NOT!
    • "To give her child a name" just means to make the child legitimate and be able to take the father's surname.
    • I would say, Denise was the ONLY good thing about that insultingly ridiculous plot.  But all this took place near the end of Another World's "let's play everything for laughs" era.  Thank God that nonsense ended around 1988.
    • We could take an OATH: We swear we will hate these episodes!
