We were looking forward to chatting with Elsa Patton at the Real Housewives of Miami premiere Bravo threw last week, but no such luck.

The absolutely fabulous, refreshingly outspoken breakout star wasn’t at the season 3 party, because she’s not well.

Daughter Marysol Patton reports that the reality series’ fan favorite is still recovering from a stroke she suffered back in March.

Collective sigh.

“Right now mom is at home convalescing with a full-time live-in,” explained Marysol. “It was a difficult road to finally get her home and back to her daily routines, the simplest things we all take for granted daily.”

The Patton Group PR president explained what happened the day of her mother’s brain hemorrhage.

“I received a call from her household staff that they had arrived at the house and found her unconscious on the floor of her bedroom. I immediately called 911 and drove over. She was shaking and unable to walk or barely sit up and her eyes were fixated staring up to left. The paramedics carried her down the stairs wrapped in a sheet to the ambulance. She was rushed to the hospital for a brain scan.”

The doctors told Marysol that they needed to operate immediately to relieve blood from the brain, which they suspected came from the impact when Elsa hit the floor.

“I had to think fast, but cautiously,” said Marysol, who consulted with friend and castmate Alexia Echevarria, whose own son Frankie suffered brain damage after a severe car accident and whose brother-in-law is also a doctor.

After the surgery, the native Cuban was in critical care for several months and then moved to a rehabilitation center before coming home in May.

Though viewers won’t see Mama’s recovery, the show’s sassy matriarch will appear toward the end of the season.

“The production company was very flexible with me and allowed me to film around my schedule which involved hospital visits, coordinating mom’s move back home and my day to day operations of my company,” said Marysol. “I filmed what I could, when I was available in the role of a ‘friend’ of the Housewives.”

I expect him to say that no matter what. He also hyped up season 5 of ATL and it didn't quite compare to the previous seasons

They always say the newest season of any franchise is the "best one yet", "explosive", "unforgettable"... lol but I guess we shall see.

I did not know this either. Poor Mama Elsa!

That explains why Marysol was downgraded to friend status this season. I am sure that Andy (like almost everybody else who loves this show) is hoping that Mama Elsa makes a full recovery and when that happens, both she and Marysol will be back on RHoM full-time.

Fingers crossed for this fabulous lady's recovery.

I missed that! And I am shocked that Lea would laugh at that because she always said she was close with Mama Elsa. If she did do that, then she is [joeygorga]Scum[/joeygorga].

It's official. Just fire everybody and give this franchise to Gia and Milania. Milania shooting the chandeliers, "Melissa going up a pole," and Gia reading her uncle and speaking so truthfully about everything that's gone wrong with her family. Joey looked like a giant idiot next to her. Honestly, these two say everything that the adults are afraid to say to each others' faces.

I still have a crush on Chris Laurita. I know that's wrong. Also I really liked Caroline this episode, especially when she was taking care of CJ.

Don't know what the !@#$%^&*] Jacqueline has done to her face and nose but a neck tuck? This woman has serious body dysmorphia issues. It's clear when she refuses to participate in a charity Zumba class -- she's so afraid of what? Jiggling? Get a good bra, some Spanx and get over it!

The best part was watching Joe Giudice doing zumba.

Overall I thought the episode dragged on. It felt like it went on way longer than it should have. It really could have ended with the Zumba segment. Thank god next week's episode looks good when the Season 6 replacement girls come to take Melissa on
