RHOM

Let me start with the bad.

Production, what do you think you are doing? I was just praising them last week for NOT doing what RHOA and some other HW shows have done...editing out relevant scenes and then representing them as a flashback!!! It not only manipulates the audience, but it destroys the level of truth between the audience and the show in terms of 'reality.' I mean...how can we trust the show if the scene is not being shown as it happened as it was filmed. Up until now, RHOM has been ABOVE that technique and a better show for it. And the scenes in question...has been the aftermath of Julia, Guerdy, and the drink throw. After the silence from most of the cast, it would have been better to see Guerdy going to each of them as she talked to them about the incident and get a feel for what the others thought. Instead...flashbacks that make one suspect. Hmmm. Cuz...the optics. Secondly...what was up with the audio for the taglines??? After making us wait...THAT was horrible and better be fixed before Wednesday's episode? A mess!!

Outside of that, it was another good episode in spite of that. We got another set of interesting scenes and leave it up to Adriana to do an event that wasn't boring. lol. I'm sorry that the other ladies just had to messy, though I did love to see Alexia vs Adriana in such a petty HW, but RHOM way.

As for the new housewife...Oooooh she knows Caroline Stansbury from RHoDubai. Intrigued. But so far...undecided.

ALEXIA. I was right there with Marysol, too. Todd (and her) got an extension on the divorce??? WHAT??? Why?? Definitely a thing that makes you go hmmm. And her vs Adriana at Julia's baby shower was the kind of petty feud I love to see because they both got good licks in.

JULIA. They started the episode with her and I zzzzzzzzzzzzzz. And more of her bad side came out this episode with what happened with Adriana. Adriana did that party for her due to her being her BFF and there every step of the way during her attempt to adopt. And not only did she not want Adriana to sit by her, but she wanted to get the new housewife to be placed by her??? Really, Jules. GIRL, BYE. I never thought I would see the day where Julia came across as some kind of clout chaser, yet here we are. And don't get me started on how she continued to try to play as a victim with everything having to do with Guerdy. Good thing Guerdy had better things to do than go to that baby shower.

LISA. First of all...I can't believe Lisa was online the night of and retweeted my tweet (which is at 32k views and counting) when I was joke serious. Because I just can't believe that Larsa...was having that scene with her Milan friend and continuing to ruin Jody's reputation. I didn't expect it to snowball into Larsa planting a scene since I feel Larsa can't act to save her life but TeamLisa anyway. Her and Lisa had just come to make in-roads so I can't believe Larsa shot it to Kingdom Come. And poor Lisa at the baby shower. I felt so bad for her. And don't get me started on her sending Larsa a picture of her dead dad.

LARSA. Can't. Won't. She was actually in my good graces. But ewww at all the attempts to bait Lisa. Not helped by Alexia and Marysol trying to wind her up. She could have saved that mess until after the baby shower.

GUERDY. And we know I'm Team Guerdy. It was sad to watch her break down to Russell (best househusband ever) as she expressed how she felt. I also thought it was wise to lay low and focus on herself.

STEPHANIE. Just kinda there so far for me. It saddened me because the HW shows for the last year or two have had great newbie intros right out of the gate. She definitely gave me a Nicole-lite vibe which I liked. And I liked that she instantly got into it with Alexia of all people. For now...wait and see.

Good episode, but I hope RHOM is not about to jump the shark. Cuz people are still mad about Julia vs Guerdy. And we know how I feel (and sadly the ratings are reflecting it) about RHOM being in the 9 PM timeslot rather than the 8 PM one.

I mean wasn't OC at 8 last year and did fine?

@Taoboi I just came back from a long-awaited vacation and caught up on the last two episodes of RHOM. (I also caught up on the RHOA finale, but since reunion is tonight, I will spare you my thoughts. Needless to say, I agree with all of you about Angela, think that next season needs proper OGs like Kenya and Nene to return. Kelli & Brit need not apply).

Firstly, I was willing to give Julia the benefit of the doubt. Not every fight between two HWs is black-or-white. I can see how Guerdy's personality might grate on some. She's always ON, her VTs are a mene machine. She's hustling for her business, hence why she might have rubbed Julia the wrong way on whatever the heck this Bravo Cruise thing was.

However, underneath all that, we have seen a vulnerable, authentic woman over the years. She is not a bullsh!t artist. This year, Guerdy is at her most vulnerable, with her recovery, her reconstruction, her self-esteem as a woman.

Some friends are there for a reason, and some for a season. I think Julia and Guerdy were never as tight as Nicole and Guerdy, and they grew apart. And when little things about the other started to get on their nerves, it exacerbated everything. I also think Guerdy never hit it off with the other women, which means she is largely isolated.

Julia's assault on Guerdy was cruel, targeted and unacceptable behaviour. Julia was not drunk, Julia was looking for a moment. Guerdy sitting there in shock with wine dripping all over her was an image that stuck with me, because you could see how badly she'd been blindsided by a friend.

On that note, Julia's slow edging out of Adriana is also quietly painful to behold. They've been friends, off-screen, for a decade, and the fact that she would cut her loose for a bunch of fairweather castmates is ugly. The fact that Adriana was not invited to Marysol's celebration makes me think that Alexia-Marysol-Larsa have commandeered Julia over to their side. They targeted Nicole last year, and now she's gone; this year, they want to edge Guerdy and Adriana off the show. This will be absolutely ruinous for RHOM which has a lease of life today it never had in its 2012 incarnation. And that is down to the dynamism and chemistty of this cast. If another two people go, I honestly don't see the deeply boring and vapid Larsa driving the A storylines on RHOM. Lisa vs Larsa is doing little for me thus far. They need the others (especially Adriana and Team Newbies) to keep the cast chemistry thriving.

Speaking of Newbies, Stephanie is an interesting addition thus far. Im trying to figure out if she actually has Money-Money, or whether she and her husband have indebted themselves to get a spot on the show. I'm thinking she has actually coin. I also enjoy her quirky, ladylike, 1960s-esque style.

Absolutely jealous!!! This weekend was rough on me and I'm still in pre-production about a much needed vacation. More soon ;) Fingers crossed. But I know you definitely deserve one so good to see you got it. :)

They pushed the RHOA reunion to next week.

I can see that with Julia and Guerdy. And I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt until I saw the scene itself. Leading up to it Julia has been...not nice. And post-throw...not feeling her at all.

Oh don't say that. I've been feeling the same. re: Julia's joining of the Mean Girls. And with Stephanie so far being taken into the group by Larsa, the potential IS there for this show to hit the toxicity that RHOM hit in Season 3. And we knew what happened at the end of Season 3.

I'm wait and see on Stephanie.

Nothing super descriptive or bombastic, but looks enjoyable. We need a lil reality TV junk food fix in our household. We're currently hate-watching Next Gen NYC. God, I hate young people, LOL.

Yeah, I'm having a rough day and decided to finally sit down and see how Riley is doing and so far I like it. It could be because it's current NYC though...which has been on my mind lately.

Then I think you're going to hate this hahaha. I don't mind it, but I don't love it as much as the Bravo Insta fan accounts seem to do. There is a cute guy on there, but he's so insufferable and spoiled.

Brooks rarely did anything for me, so seeing more of him isn't a draw for me. He's so monotone and closed off.

I do like Riley but she always seems shy and closed off as well. She does open up and stand up for herself, which has been nice, but...

Gia seems to have been an afterthought and isn't close to any of them, and complains about having to meet in the city from NJ, so again, what's the point haha.

I'm sorry your weekend was so rough. 😪 Please take a vacation when you can, because the one I took did me the world of good. I've had a rough year with workload becoming overwhelming to the point of exhaustion. My immune system got so run down. Friends from Boston invited me to Ireland (County Kerry and County Cork), and the people there were so nice, friendly and communicative. I felt welcomed and embraced. I laughed, I ate well, and the weather/countryside was fresh and restorative. I hope you get to go somewhere fun very soon.

Try training them! They have taken years off my life. With some great exceptions I have worked with... the poor work ethic. The unearned entitlement. I'll leave it at that.

Having said that, I've dipped briefly into Next Gen NYC, and while it is not the second coming (that would be RHOM!), it has its enjoyable moments. Including Ariana, daughter of one Kim Zolciak, who right off the bat let us know that she made millions on IG/TikTok, which Kim & Kroy promptly 'moved' from her bank account. Insane.

I dont remember what time it came on, but Thurs is too late in the week for me. IMO, RH should only air on Sunday, Tues and Wed. With RHOA off the air soon, Wed and Thurs for the schedule seems off for me

The whole thing is so cringe. Half the "cast" (I'm not even sure which ones are considered the cast) are barely featured; they just pop in at random get-togethers. The main blonde guy living off daddy's money is the absolute worst, but he's the only who's actually creating storyline so it makes sense they feature him the most. Brooks is sweet, but his sensitivity and little triggering moments makes me roll my eyes. It's a little too "snowflake" for me, as a gay liberal myself. Man up, buttercup.

The girl who doesn't wash her hands gives off an I-don't-shower-regularly vibe which is ick to me. Ariana (Kim's daughter) has had too much work done at such a young age. Riley is still shy. I like her, but that hair style... no. I like Ava, and I'd like to know a little more about Emira but she's one that just pops in and out.

Overall, they're mostly vapid, privileged individuals who've have everything handed to them yet they still groan about their first world/one-percenter problems, and they're just so ... delicate about everything.

It's fun to hate-watch though, tee-hee.

Yeah, I think the OC has been on Thursdays before, but also sometimes Tues/Wed. I remember the last couple of OG NYC seasons were on Thursday, after Top Chef, which I loved bc I loved both of those shows. I don't really care what night of the week each show is on since I watch all the Bravo shows, but Thursday is usually harder to get a bigger rating generally.

LOL you summed it up perfectly. Apparently the rumor is there was an original cast at first, but then Bravo wanted more Housewives kids so they brought in Ariana and Gia, which pissed off the original cast members, with 1-2 of them leaving completely and then the bisexual guy stayed as a friend. But you're right, Emira wasn't even in like 2 full episodes, it's weird.

I really want to say it was 8 and it did well. And it was such a big deal because Thursday was when the heavy hitter primetime tv shows were airing so it stood out that OC were maintaining solid ratings. But Bravo be liking putting shows they know are going to get low ratings at 9 PM when they should be at 8 PM. I'm still mad they put RHOM at 9 PM premiere week to just show a Scenes We Didn't See on SUMMER HOUSE of all things. WTF. Put your good shows (or other) at 8 PM and watch those ratings put some of your 'favorite' ones to shame. Sorry, rant over. lol.

Yeah...when I think HW shows, I too think Sunday, Tues, and Wed as well. I remember Thursday was for TOP CHEF and PROJECT RUNWAY. ;) Which is going to be weird to watch now that Heidi is back...but no Tim Gunn. :(

Well, there's also the rumor that the show stole the whole idea (and title) from an up and coming black man who wanted the celebrities to be all kids of well known and well off black celebrities. And I'm not even sure if it is complete rumor since that man did come forward with the tea.

Thank you for the condolences. Yesterday was really rough as well as I continue to deal with 'modern' work culture. Give me the days of people who back up what they mean with good (or lazy) work ethic rather than playing in a person's face. I'm honestly at boiling point and its to my credit as I approach my work anniversary (two years...I'm proud of that regardless come Monday) that I have not snapped under unneeded micromanaging. But bright side, I'm taken to either going and sitting in the park now and just being to ground my energy...or I go on walks. I also cherish my off days...like today...in a way that I did not before which means my perspective truly has changed. I am currently considering a bit of a misadventure...probably after BTG...because there's a lesbian latina boystore I want to explore. We'll see.

As for vacationing, it's funny. I've noticed that NYC and Nashville keep popping up in random ways around me. But...due to the political climate...I'm good. lol. I have no desire to do LA.  And I have been minor toying with San Fran...since I have not gone in a long while. Same for Vegas. And Denver. Due to my job, I do have a great discount, but still on the fence due to budget and schedule and work drama. So...we will see. :)

Oh, I know you were. So I was happy to be tagged and found out that you finally took a vacation. I was so proud of you. I hope that work is doing better for you. :) :)  And just how you described it...mmmmm...you make me realize how much I miss traveling. But I had the best schedule for that when I was younger in college. Work Sunday-Thursday and then I was off somewhere on the weekends or just off...lol. Good times.

GOD YES!!! I'm dealing with that right now at my job. It is a blessing when you have to train one and they are just eager to learn, not entitled, and/or whiny. Those are truly the unicorns of the young'uns, and while I've mellowed, you can always tell the ones that I taught...and they listened...versus those who wanted to argue. In fact, I went on a job interview a couple of weeks ago to a high class hotel in the rich part of town...one of my favorite interviews to date and the most professional handling of a rejection in YEARS here...and who should be there working, but one of my trainees. I haven't seen him since 2019. Happy to see him. Aged well. Still doing the job and I know he's being paid so much more than what we were paid when we worked together. And like a father, I was proud to see him working there.

NEXT GEN X so far...just makes me miss the crazy energy of NYC. No lie.

It was refreshing! The cast trips of RHOC and NJ did not do Ireland justice. Yes, the weather is not tropical. Don't go if you want a beach resort! But my friends finagled a deal at a nice hotel in Dublin which had incredible service and cocktails. Then County Kerry which was an alpine oasis. Beautiful scenery and fresh air and natural waterfalls. The people I met were natural storytellers. It reminded me what I loved about soaps back in the day: the stories. Im a city girl, but the place felt like a balm on my soul. I hope you have a relaxing vacation in the coming months, wherever you decide to go.

P.S.: the blonde guy on Next Gen NYC is almost completely without feeling or empathy, but I see why they kept him on the show, lol.

Taoboi, you've written me very kind messages on this thread before, but this is truly the kindest.

It's been rough dealing with entitlement, laziness, manipulation from some of the younger ones... and pressure from above to maintain work quality and meet deadlines. I saw my workload triple. I saw great colleagues leave, or become subject to fake complaints at the whim of a few ruthless newbies. I suspect you completely know how it is! It is actually making people I know consider AI (which i find troubling and worrying, because it kills critical thinking). I think smartphones ruined concentration levels and work impetus in some people. But I loved your story about meeting your former trainee. It's so great to see those you trained thriving because you helped show them the way. I've had that experience too. Perhaps he can put a good word for you at this fancy hotel for another job.

Vacation is necessary to recharge one's batteries. I hadn't really gone on one since 2019. If you can, the US has such a diversity of places to visit. Denver and Boulder, the breath-taking Rockies. Salt Lake, too. The political aspect is very stressful right now, so go where you feel comfortable. I heard San Fran was going through tough times, but if you find a nice stay somewhere, I hope you take it. A colleague just came back from Seattle and adored it. Plus if you stay in US/Canada, you can keep up with RHOM, RHOC and RHOA, Lol.

Miami

Guerdy and Julia. I wouldnt give that heffa the time of day BUT I see it as her doing it for the sake of the show and moving forward. She just needs to move knowing Julia is not her friend

Kiki....Im mad she dosnt have a mojito bc we are getting so much personal story with her now and her family. She has a scene with Larsa and it was 100% to support her. I was surprised that Larsa didnt find a way to shift the convo to her but nah it was all about Kiki

The Stephanie scene with the dogs was fake right? WTF puts rescue dogs in a staging house? Of course they are gonna pee and poop inside

Stephanie was a bit much and rude in a group she just entered BUT Lisa needed to hear that bc none of her friends were gonna call her out. Id be damned if you made me wait for 2 hours in a sprinter. Stephanie said her biggest pet peeve was lateness and Im glad she stood on business

A Who's the Narcissit themed party? WTF? Yeah thats gonna go over well
