Anyone watch these shows? I absolutely love them. Ive watched NJ and Atlanta and now they are airing NY. Couldnt get into the Orange County. Too many blondes and fake boobs. Anyone else watching the current season of NY. Lots of drama. My favorites are Bethany and Kelly. I also like Jill although she bugs me. Alex does nothing for me and I cant stand Ramona and LuAnn

Queens. I miss the good ol' days of Housewives who were on these shows to have fun, not because they need a wannabe lifestyle funded. Camille is RICH and stirs [!@#$%^&*] up for kicks 'n giggles.

Her dig against Dorit just recently. Epic.

The good times!

Oh?

I would rather they keep the same style as the old show in (better behaved) American Ex-pats mixing it up with people who come from a higher class than them. To see how the class system has changed in the last decade...if at all. I know my Henry James is showing. And yes, to a Caroline Stansbury (and Sophie) appearance.

First of all

Bless you for name-checking Henry James in allusion to Ladies of London! That is exactly it! American heiresses mixing with British high society, only updated to the modern day. I would add that Henry James's close friend Edith Wharton also excelled in writing about the Gilded Age, with Americans feeling the pull of the 'old country,' and vice versa.

I can vouch for there being many well-connected American ex-pats still living here. Most connected to financiers, but some now to tech. And the class system which all Brits reject and yet still, in some way, adhere to. I hope nuLOL preserves that because Bravo really captured the mix so well in seasons 2 and 3.

NY

Lol. So there was a rumor...okay from Kampire...that while Bravo can't decide waht they want to do with NY...they would be filming in August.

And apparently today on Radio Andy...they ARE casting.

So...????

Not Michelle Pfeiffer...lol.

Awww thank you. Part of it was probably my love of BEYOND THE GATES shining through with those haves and have-nots. But I had such a fascination with Henry James in college. Still do. I just wish I had more time to read classics as much as I used to. I know that name Edith Wharton as well. But completely describes LoL, I felt. And it was part of the reason I was so fascinated with the show in the first place. And of course, the ice queen that Caroline Stansbury used to be.

Well, that's good to hear! I just hope that means we will get some interesting characters vs just another set of influencers. I figured as much about the potential specter of classism. So I'm looking forward to seeing how that part of the world sees it now since the original LoL has been off the air for...hmmm...almost a decade now? A little bit over?

This episode was so damn boring. And they expect boring a**, one-note Phraudra to save this? Chile, plz.

Porsha is already annoying the hell out of me. She and Phaedra together will be insufferable

RHOA

So I see Andy is already asking for reunion questions. Don't tell me Shady Phae Phae is only around for 5 episodes?

SLC

If I'm not mistaken, I believe they are done filming. Either that or I'm thinking of OC.

I didn't find Sunday's RHOA to be boring. It was more lowkey and slice of life which is what Housewives used to be in their early years. However, if their individual lives are boring, well, then you have a boring episode, lol. Lots of Angela but I wasn't bored. I don't think Britt and her nose were featured at all.

I see both sides of Shamea vs. Porsha but I'm more Team Shamea. I loved how half their conversation was a total 4th wall breaker, discussing how the show, Porsha on-camera vs. off-camera, and Shamea's peach-holding status has affected their relationship.

Side note: Wow, they actually let Cynthia utter the name Nene in her confessional. Also, I don't know what's going on in Cynthia's personal life, but they really should've just upped her to peach status. She's the real heart of this group.

I agree. It was an episode that let individual women and their stories breathe, and the central SL of Shamea-Porsha was allowed to percolate before heading towards another confrontation.

I appreciated the realness of the 4th-wall conversation because that made a lot of sense in terms of why their friendship was where it is. It wasn't some contrived story to cover the fact that it was the show which drove them apart. Similarly, Angela and Charles seemed to be reacting to being filmed as much as talking about their issues.

Couldn't agree more about Cynthia. She handled both Shamea and Porsha with affection and empathy. She brings the group together.
