Bravo's The Real Housewives of....

I recall her saying she was from Texas. It made me wonder if she was the Nina that auditioned for RHOD at one point in fact. That just makes me think of it even more.

I agree. It was very clear in the last half of the season that Ayan does really and truly misread what others are saying. I am just glad she's woman enough to own she was in the wrong and do the right thing and apologize.

I agree. I also loved during the reunion that Caroline seem to realize that as well.

RHOA: While this season turned out to be pretty good, the reunion itself was kinda ho-hum. Enjoyable, but nothing bombastic. Surprisingly, I forgot Kenya was on the couch half the time, though we got a lot of action from Kandi, seated furthest from Andy. Meanwhile, I'm glad Todd just lets Marlo's mess roll off his back; he doesn't take her lies seriously which means we the audience don't need to, either. Therefore, when she runs her mouth off next season, it'll pack next to no punch with the viewers.

Damn. It is sad that SLC premieres tomorrow and Bravo hasn't done anything to really promote the upcoming season. This just will confirm to the fandom that this upcoming season will probably end up being a dud with the exception of Jen's pending sentencing.

Bravo needs to get it together and start promoting their shows like they used to. The only show this entire year I've seen them promote the hell out of has been the upcoming season of Potomac. I don't even think they promoted Dubai that great for their inaugural season. Bravo's marketing department needs to probably let some people go and head back to the drawing board where Bravo had glamorous promotions for all their shows.

Totally agree with this. I mean, the SLC trailer was pretty good in racking up tension. Heck, up until that trailer, I was pretty much decided that I would NOT be watching SLC this season. I didn't even finish last year's reunion.

Follow-up has been nil. I had forgotten that tonight was premiere night. That's not good. Bravo needs to reinvest in promoting RHs because right now, this is still its ratings baby. Real Girlfriends in Paris has been a massive ratings flop (though I liked it). Southern Charm and Summer House aren't raking in the ad dollars. The Below Decks and some of the RH franchises are doing the heavy lifting. Including RHOA which, as @Gray Bunny and others have pointed out, had a ho-hum reunion. (Which is very unusual, because RHOA usually rescues a weak season with its fire reunions. But anyway -- I have hope for next season... which I hope will include Porsha).

Recently I saw that the RHOBH get gifted with unofficial (but Bravo-approved) seasonal posters every year, possibly by a Bravo-employed or ex-Bravo graphic designer. The posters are pretty great actually, and they touch on the conceptual marketing you were talking about that Bravo used to do. They are very cinematic.

Every season has a theme, whether it's the drama or a cast trip. Using that theme as a concept for promotion, like these posters do, would be a great stepping stone to a future marketing campaigns for all the Real Housewives franchises.

Remember the RH Olympics?

See... Even that p*sses me off b/c do they just do that for BH or do they do that for all the shows? B/c my mind instantly goes back to how the women of ATL had to pay out of their OWN pockets to create promos for this past season. If the stars have to pay for promos then that's a major problem.

And ATL's reunion had plenty of content. Apparently, it was on the cutting room floor. Production apparently decided to cut out the big exchange between Drew and Sanya where they almost got physical.

At this point, I strongly believe Bravo is self-sabotaging themselves.

It sounds like Bravo has cut its departmental budgets big-time, and with it, its marketing staff. Because no way a fully-staffed department would produce zilch in the way of promotion.

BH seems to get what little budget there is. I still cannot believe that the ATL cast set up and paid for their own promos, because that is just shocking and embarrassing for a franchise that was Bravo's biggest ratings pull for so long. And now you are telling me production cut the juiciest parts of reunion?? What is going on? Is Bravo trying to kill RHOA? Is this payback for Nene's lawsuit? ATL actually brings in the ad dollars, along with BH and NJ. I just do not understand it.

Bravo needs to hire, because I'm betting there are some marketing creatives among the RH fanbase who would love to work for the network.

Why do you think Bravo is self-sabotaging? Do you think this is an NBC Universal directive were they want everything on Peacock now?

Lisa Rinna once again coming between Kyle and one of her sisters. Thank god they had Kathy mention Rinna physically going after Kim, which Kyle ”let me out my sister’s alcoholism” Richards, doesn’t seemingly remember or care about. Or really any number of things Rinna did and said about Kim.

Rinna is evil. Her claiming someone else has a black heart was the most backwards hypocritical bullshit I’ve ever heard.

So far, I've only seen the scene below, but I am struck by Kyle silently victim-performing while Rinna runs roughshod over yet another sister and throws out all manner of unverifiable inferences.

Why is Kyle playing with her hair and allowing someone else to litigate the issues she has with Kathy? Can't she do it on her own? Why is she letting Rinna confront and gaslight yet another sister without so much as a peep? We all know Rinna doesn't care about Kyle Richards -- but she does care about bringing down Kathy Hilton.

Even if we go with the rumor that Kathy threw out a slur, and Kyle felt that slur was a bridge too far to defend... wouldn't Kyle want to discuss with Kathy one-on-one and offer advice on how to make amends and have a Come to Jesus scene? Kind of like Erika's fake-ass intervention. This particular scene appears to be the opposite of that.

    • Now this strikes me as funny. I have it up on my acct. The thing is I only have S2. Didn't want either 1 or 3.  Perhaps I should just list all of these that I have up.  Parodies: Dirty Sexy Money, Filthy Rich Incomplete: The Monroes, All That Glitters, Falcon Crest (have all just not all up), Once & Again S2 only Complete: Models Inc, Pasadena, Pacific Palisades, Paper Dolls, Flamingo Road
    • This is wonderful! Thank you for posting this! I loved the first two seasons and never got to see the final season when they cancelled the DVD release. I've been hoping this popped up on streaming but no luck. Happy I'll finally get to see how it ended!

    • In case it is of interest to anyone here, I have digital copies (computer files, mp4 etc.) of all of the episodes. And, besides having the files they are all up on my usual video hosting site, acct name: shallotpeel, channel it is in: Primetime Soaps and file names like  Flamingo Road S1E15 Hurricane Flamingo Road was a primetime soap on NBC by Lorimar Productions. 2 seasons. 1980-1982. Morgan Fairchild, Barbara Rush. Developed by Rita Lakin.
    • Arguably DAYS OF OUR LIVES has been brilliant lately & definitely was last week. But, here I am with nitpick & technicalities. This was the only misstep but it was just a stupid thing that should have been caught. Deidre Hall as Marlena has this one problematic line, "It didn't matter how many identities you had, I always knew exactly who you were, you were the man who saved my life." - Marlena, DAYS, 6-2-25 Unfortunately the flashback closest to it was when Marlena was on the phone, terrified because she thought he was Stefano. Yes, it's true that the line is not accurate. There were many times when she did not feel the way she is claiming because of whatever was going on in story with his 'retconned to hell & back' identity & origin story. Does it keep the whole week from being called excellent? Nope.

    • I decided this primetime soap deserved it's own thread as the Primetime soaps thread is very cluttered and why shouldn't NBC's Lorimar soap mot have a chance to shine? In doing a deeper dive into the second season ratings I was surprised to see that FR actually had an uptick in the ratings when NBC moved it to 9pm Tuesdays beginning March 82. I'd always assumed this move was a desperate one as NBC were running short of programming and had given up on the show, deciding to let the final episodes play out and be hammered by 3's Company  and CBS Movie. But the numbers paint a different story. In it's 10pm slot up against Hart to Hart, which regularly finished in the Top 20, FL premiered in 53rd place and placed in the 40's and 50's as the season continued. But come January 82 the numbers surged a little now moving into the 40's hitting #43 in Feb. Hart to Hart was #11 Then in March Bret Maverick was moved to 8pm with FR @9. First week 16th March FR #47 15.1/24 3's Company #3 Too Close for Comfort #5 CBS Movie #60 Not great but #2 in it's timeslot March 23 FR #44 15.6/25 3's Company #4 Too Close for Comfort #5 CBS Movie #33 So even with a stronger movie on CBS FR's numbers went up. March 30 FR #31 16.6/26 3's Company #9 Too Close for Comfort #5 CBS Movie #56 Best rating/position yet Tues April 6 pre empted Tues April 14 FR #36 16.0/26 3's Company #5 Too Close for Comfort #11 CBS Movie #59 Maintaining previous week's numbers Tues April 21 FR #33 15.6/24 3's Company #3 Too Close for Comfort #5 CBS Movie #60 Numbers down a little (reflecting general spring downturn) but best ranking of the season so far Tues April 28 FR #35 15.1/23 3's Company #9 Too Close for Comfort #6 CBS Movie #42 Tues May 4 FR #27 15.2/24 3's Company #5 Too Close for Comfort #4 CBS Movie #41 Season finale and highest position of the season. Looking at those numbers I wonder why NBC cancelled the show? They had very few hits and here was a show that was holding it's own and moving up in the rankings in a tougher timeslot. And being a serial, the storylines could continue to build the following season. And I'm sure the desirable W18-49 demo was good. Some might argue that CBS were shower weaker movies, but even so, soap viewers are pretty loyal. I guess Grant Tinker arrived at NBC and wanted a classier look but there was room for FR on the schedule. I mean, the following season Knight Rider,Powers of Matthew Star and the A Team arrived so there was still room for more populist fare. Flamingo could have stayed at 9pm-the replacement Gavilan bombed (surely FR would have done better} or moved back to 10pm. The following Jan NBC had a hit with A Team Tues 8pm. Had Flamingo followed it, it might have really taken off. As it was they tried Bare Essence, which flopped. Oh well,it was not to be...
    • Always, in every way, Cass/Wally/Felicia foundational to my viewing. And, I think if we look at the aftermath of the disastrous 90 minute show that we find too many pockets of some kind of lost time at the show plus way too much of change-ups in exec & writing leadership and of course we also reach the first time it becomes notable that NBC wants to get rid of the show so they can put a new soap they own in the timeslot.
