Totally agree. RHONY doesn't need subtractions from the cast. The Achilles heel of this season was the small cast and incredibly limited filming opportunities that felt as organic as a Monsanto pesticide field.

HAHAHAHA...they keep trying with this narrative. I can't.

ETA: Candiace just spilled some tea. Some Michael Darby drama coming...

ETA: @Gray Bunny speaking of Wendy showing her real self...wow...she really is hurt....

Agreed.

One of many irksome qualities - She's trying to overturn RHONY by calling out things that are par for the course in Housewives land. Two castmates hate each other but exchange empty pleasantries at a group gathering? That's Housewives 101. Don't be all stank about it.

Andy said on his radio show that RHONY reunion films tomorrow. Luann is still in Europe and Ramona in Aspen per social media so either they’re posting old stuff or it will be virtual. I’m curious to find out.

Lol I just love you guys' visceral dislike of Leah! I guess I was holding out for her getting the Garcelle treatment!

Wow! That would be really weird if both those women weren't there! Only Eboni, Sonja and Leah? Suddenly I am having visions of the Dallas reunion.

I wish I could watch the entire episode because I would love to see how these 3 interact with each other over an extended period. What is abundantly clear from these two clips is just how quick and sparky Karen is in a relatively spontaneous setting. Obviously she is aware what most of the questions will be, but still, she is so  quick-witted, clear and direct in her comebacks. She keeps the topic on Gizelle. I live for it! No-one can hold Gizelle to account quite like Karen. And Giz had a point about Karen gossiping about Michael Darby, etc., although the way I see it, a lot of that has occurred after the Darbys tried to make the Hugers their prime target, right around S2/S3. Then Karen was like, you expose my secrets? I can expose yours.

The interesting thing about these clips is how... good-natured and surprisingly untoxic the Gizelle-Karen interaction was. On the show, Gizelle usually has a face like a smacked behind whenever Karen comes up. It feels similar to the toxic hatred that Rinna and LVP nursed. Here, though, they are listening to each other, responding to each other, trading barbs. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but they are enjoying the repartee. It feels like an elegant fencing match, not a brawl.

It also shows for all the drama going down right now on POTOMAC, they do appear to have mended their friendship. It will be nice to see on the show if true.

Gizelle and Karen are the most fulfilling rivalry in HW history IMO. Very evenly matched in terms of the back and forth but it never goes totally off the rails. I never fear that either will be completely obliterated by the other, but a lot of their blows do land.

Karen and Gizelle have had a long time friendship.  And Karen has said she likes Gizelle...and I think Karen is someone who will ignore you if she doesnt like you.  She never ignores Gizelle and vice versa.

And regarding NY, Leah has had 2 seasons and she hasn't proved why she should he there..so she can go.  Now I get why OC drops lots of their housewives after a shaky 1st season...because they tend not to improve, but get worse with time.

    • After the slap it does feel inevitable - being arrested and thrown out right after her big win.
    • Yesterday it was Theo and Jada.  Today it's Chad and Belle.  What a mess.
    • I asked my soap historian GPT to help pull together the best available sources on Daniel Pilon’s run, and here’s what the research confirms: * Pilon played Max Dubujak on *Ryan’s Hope* from 1983–88. * He began appearing as Alan Spaulding on *Guiding Light* in 1988. * An academic source notes that he appeared as **Max and Alan simultaneously in November 1988 * His later-life interviews mention major upheavals, including losing his home in the Northridge earthquake and declaring bankruptcy in 1994.  That’s the factual foundation. Now for the human side of it. I’ll admit Pilon was never my favorite Alan. The Spauldings are supposed to have that patrician, Midwestern money vibe, and suddenly here comes this very European-sounding gentleman sweeping into Springfield like he wandered in from a different soap entirely. It created a strange tonal shift, at least in my memory. Whether he was intended to be temporary is hard to pin down, but honestly, looking at what he was dealing with in his real life, I don’t know that the show ever had a truly stable window to figure it out. He was going through marital strife, while being talked about as the "next James Bond" back in Canada, and juggling work on two soaps at once is a lot. Under those circumstances, the question of whether he was the “right” type for Alan becomes almost secondary to the fact that he was working through multiple emergencies while stepping into one of GL’s biggest roles. So for me, the story of his Alan isn’t just about casting fit. It’s about an actor navigating chaos and the show adapting on the fly. Also, the proverbial soap hill that I would defend its honor, is that Ron Raines in the final week was so amazing, that for me, it erases all prior memories of his performance.
    • I wish Nicole had swallowed but it is what it is lol
    • You're probably right, but it's such a mistake to have Dani return to Bill. I do not want that. I like Bill, but that's probably because he's so much better than his garbage wife. Having Dani take back the guy who NEVER stopped cheating on her during their marriage would be a terrible mistake.  Yes, it's a mistake I can see Dani making. That doesn't mean I want to see it.
    • That's funny, I totally didn't think about the possibility that they'll pin this on someone else.  I assumed they'd just roll him into the water.  Obviously, I would not make an ideal hitman. I hope it's not Laura.
