No, it was not an updated opening. I must say, the opening looks ABSURD. I don't like looking up JR and Amanda's nostrils. Couldn't they have made the frame they were gonna use the top part of the existing footage or is that hard? No one has hair anymore! And the AMC logo was cut off on my standard TV upstairs. Like it legit said "All My Childre". Atrocious.

Yeah I wish i could just watch it letterboxed--I don't have a Wide or HDTV and noticed that too--I wish they had somehow digitally added CGI to the sides or something to make it work better, but I guess that woulda been more work than ABC wants. I did notice a few people being less in frame than they would be normally too (I wish I could watch it letterboxed ) but of course they still more or less frame it, like most HDTV, to work on normal tc screens.

I wasn't expecting to see Rob (is that his name? Krystal's guy) as I didn't think they'd bother bringing him with the move--if they didn't with Timothy Adams as the doctor, etc, but maybe he's actually gonna develop a personality and be on more? I'm not espeially taken with him and his bizarre 80s hair, but I kinda like him and am not opposed to us seeing a bit more of him...

Yeah his name is Rob. I like to call him Chisel Face, or Dr. Oz (cause he really looks like Dr. Oz to me lol). I like him to, and I'm surprised he's been on as much as he has. I think the show might keep him, and we'll find out more about him. His hair looks exactly like Damon's, Rob looks like he could be Damon's dad, LOL. He has chemistry with Krystal, he's very funny, I like him!

DAYS and B&B aren't in HD, either. Only 3 soaps are filmed in HD. GH, AMC, and Y&R.

I've been watching this week. ATWT is so bad that I dumped it temporarily and have picked up AMC. The show has been great this week. I know this is a Wednesday episode, but this is pretty much for all three days.

- I find myself loving Jamie Lunar as Liza. I wish I liked her story more. What does Liza do? I don't really care for her as a lawyer. I like the romance with Tad, but that's it. I find myself annoyed with the people she shares scenes with. Odd I know.

- HATE Marissa. One of the worst actresses I've ever seen. The type of blandness Kriezman loves.

- Greenlee is great and Rebecca Budig's hair is looking fab. I haven't enjoyed Greenlee this much in YEARS. SO far it's going better than her last piss poor return or the dreadful writing when Sabine was in the role.

- HATE HATE HATE nuColby. I know people didn't like BM, but she was a better actress. I think they dressed her Colby too young which didn't work. She was miscast, but not was terrible as the girl playing her now.

- Brot and Natalia are cute and of course I long for the day Angie, Jesse and co get good stories.

- For once Erica isn't annoying me and seems to actually be interesting now. I love David as well. The vets are overall being better written right now.

- LOVE LOVE LOVE the lack of Zendull. Are they gone yet?

No Zendall is reason to rejoice. I don't think the actress who plays Marissa is awful, but I think it's the combo of a bland actress with a badly conceived character that really does it (I've said it before; would anyone believe her first appearance was as a masseuse working in a "happy ending" illegal massage parlour? )

Chris, maybe it's because you've just seen this week, where nuColby has been a bit off IMHO but she's much better than the last two Colby's, particularly in either's first 5 months or so when both were so green it hurt.

I liked the Fryes at the time, but really see no need for Derek back, his character was useless for so long. The only one i'd want back is Livia in a bigger role (and sure bring on Tom and Jamal and Terrence or whoever too)

But they did a weirdest job finding the guy to play David's assistant. The went from "though guy" to "skinny grocery bagger." The actor that played the Fusion Parking Attendant would have been a far better choice... but eh, who cares - just something I noticed.

Yep I admit, I actually took a few seconds to realize it wasn't Adams. (though I find it odd they cast Adams--who came on first at the end of Dec, if they knew he wasn't going to commute or didn't wanna bring him to LA, but I guess it was just for one extra day). And yeah the Pilot looked completely diff--it took me a long time to realize it was meant to be the same character.

I think this was the first time I saw a male employee at Fusion (who wasn't Val or Ryan)--the guy with Randi and Madi, not the parking lot guy

Also everyone had virtually the same outfits on as before (this has been a long night in Pine Valley especially as I figure Erica's Fusion Launch must have gone till at least 10?) EXCEPT Erica who had a brand new dress, even though she was at ryan's and couldn't have changed. Did Susan Lucci realize in the month or two she had off that she was wearing one of the weirdest, and worse dresses on the show?

Oh you're probably right, especially since the old Val works with an aquantance of mine full time in New York (non acting) and is a pretty popular drag queen there, I know he wouldn't move.
