Thanks.

I agree with her about people who aren't writers thinking they are (although you can apply that to far more than just ATWT/GL).

Uh oh, I think Kreizman needs to watch out.

How did you feel about Guiding Light being canceled?

I was sad for them. This is going to sound puffed up maybe… but too many people think they’re writers and they’re not. There’s so many people who think it’s easy. The people I work with are so into character, into character building. I didn’t have time to watch Guiding Light. I knew some of the people there, who were very nice. I just thought it wasn’t necessary. If someone had a little more intelligence or understanding of the craft and the medium, it could have been saved.

Ha, of course we all caught that. :P Glad she said it, not puffed up at all dear Aggie.

Have you had a chance to look at the new studio in Los Angeles for All My Children?

It’s three times as big as what we had in New York, which is so exciting. The sets are left up now. It’s just amazing. They’re more beautiful. The problem in New York was they had to be trucked back and forth every day.

This one confuses me, what was up with that rumor about them not renting a storage facility or something?? If the sets are left up now in LA, what would be the purpose of having to rent one then? Maybe I'm missing something here.

I think that had to do with the sets when they were still in NY, no? That their timing was off before the move and the sets were going to be "homeless"?

Thanks for this. Loved this interview. I didn't hear the usual from her, and the usually PC Agnes actually threw some barbs. I, too, wondered if she was referring to Kreizman here.

There was a period, where I was really worried for her health-wise (around the 10,000th epi), but lately she seems to have snapped back. Although this article ran an older picture from about twenty years ago, she looked OK on the 40th anniversary and seemed more lucid in the clips online and in this interview.

(Of course, we all know that EW writers didn't write this interview; Aggie did. ;-)

Not all sets are going to be standing all the time. For example, that cabin in the woods set we see once in a while. I doubt that's one of their standing sets. They put that in storage and bring it out when they need it. Same with the the airplane set, the airport set, etc. Only the ones that are used on a daily basis are left standing (Fusion, Hospital, Chandler parlor, etc.)

I thought she was referring to EW too even though she mentioned "writing", but of course the EP plays a significant role in that too. Especially in EW's case, the overall effect she was trying to create.

I thought she might have been referring more to executives and others who interfere in decisions, but if Kriezman does take that as a warning shot, I won't complain.

Oh ok, that makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up

You're probably right. Regardless, she's not afraid to call anyone out.

I thought she was talking about executives as well. I doubt she knows much about Kreizman other than what he ordered when they got together for the obligatory new headwriter suck-up lunch.
