January 28, 201016 yr Member Loads of them. A Martinez is one who had GREAT work, just a little bit for his eyes. Looks great. Josh Taylor, obviously. And it doesn't look good. It's that haircut of his too, that rooster comb thing is hideous! Drake Hogestyn has enough Botox in his face to turn a jar of mayonnaise rancid. Galen Gering. Yup. He's pretty. Far too pretty to be created by only Mother Nature. Jerry Douglas had quite a few little things over the years at Y&R and he always looked really good. Peter Bergman, Christian LeBlanc, Doug Davidson. Yes, Yes and Yes. Every name on that list is obvious except Galen Gering. He has been good looking since the day he showed up, and it is possible he was just blessed with good looks...unless you are saying you know or are pretty sure you are seeing something in his face? The three Y&R men disturb me. Peter Bergman looks embalmed, and Christian LeBlanc is sort of scary.
January 28, 201016 yr Member So funny you should mention that because last night I was gonna get into people who've had their teeth done, but I thought it'd be easier compiling a list of those who haven't. I noticed TP's smile when he returned to GL, looked like he'd gotten his top front teeth veneered. Susan Lucci, Jacob Young, and Tracy Bregman are some others who've had noticeable dental work. Yeah but as you imply more people in tv have had their teeth done, then not. It's so strange watching Peyton Place and the amount of people with, not great teeth. By everyday standards no one has BAD teeth--but when you're used to everyone on tv having great teeth, seeing Ryan O'Neil's crooked lower row, for instance, is jarring.

January 28, 201016 yr Member Veneered... honey, I thought he had LED's installed at the base of each tooth! That reminds me of when June Brown from Eastenders was given a lifetime achievement award, and she scoffed at her teeth in a clip from her first episode, "Well I HAVE had 'em done since, haven't I? You have to wait 'til you get the money, you hafta be in it for a bit." @Eric, I really think Extreme Makeover had a huge impact on cosmetic dentistry. A lot of us knew about things like porcelain veneers and laser whitening, but that show really put those things on the map and suddenly everyone was buying Whitestrips or throwing down the money (around $1,000/tooth) for veneers, or Zoom/Brite Smile.

I know, your'e right about that. Extreme makeover was when that stuff really took off. And WOW is it expensive. Makes me SO thankful I have perfect teeth and never needed enhancement, my dentist marvels at my teeth every time I come in. Good thing... I couldn't afford it, anyway!

I am not saying DF is wrong and he hasnt had anything done, but he has always been damn fine on his own.
January 28, 201016 yr Member I know this sounds odd but I actually think some actors have TOO white teeth. Like it becomes a distraction. Edited January 28, 201016 yr by EricMontreal22
January 28, 201016 yr Member My dad and I have had that discussion, like, is there *really* such a thing as too white teeth? I see what you mean, but to me it only looks "bad" when the overall look is just too too[/t], like Sam Champion's choppers matched with his orange fake bake tan and blonde highlights. When you get veneers, there are shade options, they even take the whites of your eyes into consideration, but I just don't think I could throw down that kind of money and opt for "kinda white" over "DAYUM white". I dunno...
January 28, 201016 yr Member HAHA no I get the rationale behind them for sure. But, there are some tv stars who open their mouths and I feel assaulted.
January 28, 201016 yr Member Deidre Hall, while undoubtedly still a very striking woman, seems very plastic to me. During her last stint on DAYS, she had two expressions. The dead stare and the squinty "smile." I put "smile" in quotes because it never seemed like she ever actually moved her mouth, she just squeezed her eyes shut really tighy to make it appear she was happy. And then there was RoboJohn, who had the smoothest, most robotic looking face ever. And the Michael Myers haircut, can't forget that. SO creepy. Josh Taylor always struck me as someone who just lost too many teeth. He sounds like he's got like three left in his head.

I agree, however she is striking looking in person. doesnt look fake or plastic at all.
January 28, 201016 yr Author Member Deidre has a had lots and it looks really good. Funny enough, she didn't look quite as good on TV. She looked plastic, outside of DAYS, she looks lovely. And yes, Galen Gering has had a tweak, his nose and his chin, but that's fine, he is terrific looking.
January 29, 201016 yr Member so just out of curiosity, because I find this fascinating younger Galen: this is before work, correct? What did he do? and this is "classic" Galen, probably from six or eight years ago and the work was already done at this time?

Yes, take a look at his nose, the bridge is more defined, looks great, very conservative work. The chin looks done too, just a touch stronger.
January 30, 201016 yr Member Ah DayTime Fan...this thread reminds me how much you were sorely missed for a while...
