January 8, 201016 yr Member The soaps typically get a big bounce during the Christmas/NY Holiday weeks so I wouldn't be surprised about the 3.9 (and all soaps being up), but yeah got to see it from our great Toups first. True, they've had similar trends during the Holiday's ratings-wise over the past couple of years. 2008: 1. Y&R 5,385,000 (+131,000/-328,000) 1. Y&R 3.8/11 (+.1/-.3) 2007: 1. Y&R 5,752,000 (+93,000/-76,000) 1. Y&R 4.2/12 (+.1/-.1) I guess I can take solace in the fact that it was due to people being home for the holiday's and not because of anything this horrible and disastrous writing team at Y&R was putting out and calling "soap opera writing." Or... If Angela is right... After 3.9 it might touch a 3.2 in January!!! We can only hope. Edited January 8, 201016 yr by Y&RWorldTurner
January 8, 201016 yr Member Or... If Angela is right... After 3.9 it might touch a 3.2 in January!!! Sorry, but with all YnR's problems, it beats GH by miles. General Hospital is horriffic.
January 8, 201016 yr Member I think all too many viewers are done with ABC soaps. It's a shame how all three have fallen. At least AMC is trying to lure back their viewers. GH and OLTL- any hope? Doubtful to me. Sad but true. People can hate on Pratt, Carlivati and Guza individually but there's a "vibe" that pervades the whole ABC line up that's driven people away.

January 8, 201016 yr Member If this is true, Y&R's team is safe... Unless the ratings start falling soon, outside of the holiday season... But then again, you enjoy this team's "writing," so you would be happy if they stayed, I guess... I'm still waiting for Toups, how does Y&R get to a 3.9 and B&B only gets a 2.5?
January 8, 201016 yr Member If this is true, Y&R's team is safe... I wasn't for sure about OLTL being a 1.7. I just looked and they were. So I guess these could be right. Edited January 8, 201016 yr by AS THE WORLD TURNS
January 8, 201016 yr Member If this is true, Y&R's team is safe... Look at ATWT compared to GH and OLTL. And ATWT cancelled. I know I know their demos are lower. Still sad
January 8, 201016 yr Member How does Y&R go from a 3.5 from the week before to a 3.9 last week, and no other soap had similar trends? Something doesn't add up, Y&R hasn't had week to week jumps like that IN YEARS, if ever. Edited January 8, 201016 yr by Y&RWorldTurner

January 8, 201016 yr Member When was the last, if ever, a soap jumped .4 in households from week to week?

I'm still waiting for Toups, how does Y&R get to a 3.9 and B&B only gets a 2.5? I actually don't enjoy much of this team's stories...but that's for another thread. How does Y&R go from a 3.5 from the week before to a 3.9 last week, and no other soap had similar trends? Something doesn't add up, Y&R hasn't had week to week jumps like that IN YEARS, if ever. I totally agree with you. That's why I said "if this is true". I just cannot believe that number. The show had three (?) original airings that week...did they all score that well? Toups, tell us.
