As to your first point, how many "already daytime AA hunks are out there"? Daytime has been pretty white over the last 10 years, so it seems like a pretty small pool of actors from which to choose.

I was not a big fan of Marcus Patrick based on his time on DOOL but at least he could fit the heartthrob bill as a recast. Darius McCrary is a joke in so many ways beyond just him being Eddie Winslow.
