That was on a show which actually had decent writers. Even then, it took time.

Y&R has flopped with every recast they have attempted in recent years.

I have seen Darius act and he sucks!!!!!!

When people say this will be epic fail they are not kidding. Darius is limited in his acting abilities plus he is just the wrong person for the role.

When I told my mother that "Eddie Winslow" had been cast as Malcolm, she literally laughed so hard she had to hang up the phone and call me back an hour later. I kid you not.

Say, maybe they can get Jo Marie Peyton ("Harriet Winslow") or Telma Hopkins ("Aunt Rachel") to play the Abbotts' old maid, Mamie Johnson?

Yeah, but who's to say Mia Korf even that popular in the role? It seems to me, no one was really talking about Blair until she hooked up w/ Todd for the first time - and that KdP playing the role then, not MK.

Oh, come on. I, for one, won't begrudge Darius McCrary for taking the part (just as I didn't begrudge Jamie Luner for accepting the role of Liza Colby on AMC), but you have to admit, "Eddie Winslow" is a bit of a letdown from Shemar Moore.

I would put more blame on the writing than on him, but overall, yes. After a lot of hype at the start Billy is known more for pity parties and screwing up than for any actual storyline. The lack of emotional connection with love interests and family members doesn't help.

But then again, Y&R has been utter illogical crap for a while now, this writing and producing team have got to be fired soon, or at least some change has to be at this show...
