November 18, 200916 yr Author Member LOL. I guess I am getting old. I can't remember anything no more I would count it. The baby was switched. She had no idea it was her mother's son
November 18, 200916 yr Member I thought the one on OLTL recently with Jess/Tess/Bess switching her dead baby with Starr's was solidly mediocre.
November 18, 200916 yr Author Member Ok so I'll ask again and this time I will not make any assumptions. Has any soap NOT done a baby swap story?
November 18, 200916 yr Member THIS. And I truly believe AMC has never recovered. It was so promising until they had Babe find out 2 weeks later and then twisted every. single. character. to make her actions acceptable and downright righteous. YES! Bianca & her Babe Is Love mantra was the worst. The only ones that stayed strong in their Babe hate were Erica & Kendall both of whom paid for it later.
November 18, 200916 yr Member Ok so I'll ask again and this time I will not make any assumptions. Has any soap NOT done a baby swap story? None of the soaps that went off the air before 1982 or so. I also don't believe Capital ever did one. Neither has GH.
November 18, 200916 yr Member The Jennifer/Gwen baby switch story on ATWT wasn't too bad. Until Gwen got baby rabies.
November 18, 200916 yr Member Yes I thought the Jennifer/Gwen switch on ATWT was rather good, as was the Sheila/Lauren switch back in the day. I've liked the Sami/Nicole switch thanks to the interesting plotting and performances by Sweeney and Zuker. Hard to believe its been a year since the origins of the story began. Worst baby switches? Well there's quite a few...Sharon/Ashley on Y&R, Michelle/Cassie on GL was pretty dumb and was a bad ripoff. It only lasted for like a month and half as Wheeler had let go all the actors involved. The baby switch with Lily on ATWT was pretty bizarre. I liked that Hope's father turned out to be Andy Dixon, but before we knew Denise was the mother the baby was white, after we learned Denise the mother the baby turned black. At least no dead babies were involved in that one. Hope/Lexie switch was pretty bad for the most part, but the climax saved it by correcting everything wrong with it.
November 18, 200916 yr Member Neither has GH. LMAO! They'll commit every other crime against a woman, but they won't take their babies! Edited November 18, 200916 yr by brimike
November 18, 200916 yr Member I forgot about the one with Lily/Denise. I hated Reid/David, otherwise I thought it was OK. The big mistake was in having Denise sell her baby. The fans never forgave Denise. LMAO! They'll commit every other crime against a woman, but they won't take their babies! I think they may have been planning one with Claudia/Carly but then I guess they decided to let Sarah go, so instead she had a miscarriage.

Lorraine Broderick started it, Leah Laiman and Carolyn Culliton took it over, and Hogan Sheffer did the reveal of Andy as the father. It wasn't great to begin with, but having three different head writers writing it certainly didn't help. Edited November 18, 200916 yr by brimike
November 18, 200916 yr Member Clink Boom. Touche! ETA: They'll blow the babies up. But they won't steal them. :D Edited November 18, 200916 yr by brimike
November 18, 200916 yr Administrator Days: The one with Lexie and Hope from a few years ago was pretty good I didn't think the whole storyline was great, just the ending/reveal was good. It's the opposite of the Nicole/Sami/Mia baby switch where I loved it from beginning to end.
