Members IcyOne
Reminds me of when Elaine Princi was fired for the sake of rehiring Robin Strasser...or when Robert Kelker-Kelly was given a pink slip just to placate Peter Reckell returning. Vaughan was in the role equally as long as Jackson was, and became the face of Lucky. It's bullshit that he was booted from a position he faithfully performed all for the sake of bringing back the teenage version of the character. If Vaughan had opted to quit, then rehiring Jackson wouldn't have been as off putting (although still regressive) but this is yet another example of ABC's offensive benedict arnold tactics involving throwing one actor under the bus for another (Elaine Princi --- Robin Strasser ... Nicholas Walker --- Jim DePaiva ... Sabine Singh --- Rebecca Budig ... Christina Chambers --- Susan Haskell.) It honestly makes me resent the previous actor, even if I originally liked them. Because of this, I won't accept Jackson as Lucky again. I dislike the character, simply on principal. And that beard is ridiculous guy, you still look 12. Members Ann_SS
Guza was never going to write for Lucky with GV in the role. Guza should have fired GV and recast or sent away Lucky years ago since he was so unhappy with his portrayal of the character.
Members UKBoi
Plus on a totally shallow note, on a scale of 1-10 Jonathan Jackson is like a 5 if he's lucky. Greg Vaughan, on the other hand, is like a 12.
Members MarkH
These are good examples. This has happened a lot, especially on ABC. But they did the same to Shari Shattuck when Eileen Davidson returned to Y&R. This does happen a lot. In the end, the original player usually is a better fit to the character--it's just a special magic that evolved between that character and that actor. I think it is brutal and often unfair...but it usually serves the drama. In this case, I feel badly for Vaughan. I'm sure he'll land on his feet, though. He is very appealing, and capable. He should have the ability to create a character that is a better fit to his charms and skills. There have been rumors that AMC might find a place for him. Members DRW50
Wasn't RKK fired because Lisa Rinna and Kristian Alfonso said if he didn't go, they'd both walk? I agree with you. To be honest I think I was more of a GV fan than a Lucky fan. He made me care about Lucky in a way I never did when he was GH's golden boys back in the "Hey man! What's going on, man! I'm Tony Geary's mini-me, man!" days of JJ. JJ is a good actor but I abhorred that era Lucky. But if it gets ratings up then I guess they were wise. I just hope Greg finds solid work elsewhere, he deserves it.

Members Ann_SS
Yeah, RKK was a handsy sleaze ball and both his leading ladies did not want to do any more love scenes with him. Once they teamed up against him Corday had no choice, but to fire him. He was already on thin ice when Alison Sweeney's mother refuse to let her work when was he was on the set. Members Marc
I don't watch GH so I have no idea who the "better" Lucky was between the 2, but I don't like ABC's fickle devotion to its recasts either. It also makes me feel like the former actor "conspired" with TPTB to take another actors job simply because they decided they were "ready" to come back. This situation is especially unsettling because it isn't as if GV was only there for a short period of time like Christina Chambers. You'd think after almost a decade, TPTB would have built up some devotion to him as that character. I hate to imagine how callous ABC would be to Trevor St. John or Bree Williamson if one day Roger Howarth or Erin Torpey up and decided they were "ready" to come back. 'Move your feet, lose your seat' AFAIC! You shouldn't have quit in the first place!
Members CSF
I prefer Greg Vaughn over Jonathan Jackson. I never liked JJ in the role and I never cared for Lucky until JV took over from Jacob Young. I did find it rather amusing that Greg Vaughn still appeared in the opening credits today. As for Elaine Princi being fired to bring back Robin Strasser, I'd take RS over any other previous Dorian any day. The only Ashley Abbott I'd prefer over Elieen Davidson would be Brenda Epperson. I wish ABC never brought back Tyler Christopher as Nikolas. I loved Stephen Martinez/Coltin Scott in the role.

Members Y&RWorldTurner
Me three. And it might be unpopular, I don't know, but I miss Marissa Ramirez as Gia and enjoyed her and Stephen together.
Members Quent
Why on earth bring back JJ as Lucky? That ship has sailed, and he looks like he's 12. GV is a leading man, not a boy. Hate it when soap stars come back after failing elsewhere and try to boot others out of the way.
Members dragonflies
I love the "Looks like he's 12" crap some just love to spew. Guess that's the ONLY reason they can come up with why JJ shouldn't play Lucky Lucky is FINALLY back. THe character has been unrecognizable since JJ left. GV is a great actor, but his Lucky was just so blah. My nephew is 12 and I can tell you now JJ looks like no 12 year old I've ever seen
Members DRW50
I could come up with other reasons - he relies too much on mannerisms, his voice is whiny, and he got most of his praise for spending 4-5 years of his GH run doing a Geary imitation. The character was unrecognizable because the show stopped caring once the golden boy left. I guess we'll see if the care now that he's back. Members quartermainefan
I feel bad for GV but I do accept all three actors as being the real Lucky.
